ADL award will come at the con
clusion of a one-hour TV spectacle,
produced by Richard Rodgers and
Oscar Hammerstein II, dramatiz
ing American progress in human
relations during the past 40 years.
Ethel Merman, making her first

Three major forum sessions de
voted to the problems of anti-
Semitism, race relations and civil
liberties in the United States, will
feature 37 speakers from the fields
of government, religion, education,
labor and journalism. Principals
among them will be Bishop Angus
Dun of Washington’s Protestant
Episcopal diocese and Justice
Meier Steinbrink, former ADL na
tional chairman, on the problems
of anti-Semitism; Judge William
H. Hastie of the U. S. Circuit Court
of Appeals, Senator Hubert H.
Humphrey, Victor Reuther of the
CIO, Dr. Lewis Webster Jones,
President of Rutgers University,
on the subject of race relations;
and Senator James H. Duff, for
mer Senator Joseph C. O. O’Ma
honey, Dr. Buell G. Gallagher,
President of The City College of
New York, and Douglas M. Black,
president of the American Book
Publishers’ Council, on civil liber
ties.
