Named for the late Supreme
Court Justice Louis Dembitz
Brandeis, the young school is the
first nonsectarian institution of
higher learning in the Western
Hemisphere to be founded by the
American Jewish community.

Minister for Education has* in
formed the only Jewish secondary
£hool in Eire, Stratford College
that Hebrew has been recognized
as one of the language subjects
which students may include in
their studies. The decision will per
mit students to carry on their
study of Hebrew for two or three
more years with official credit.
