Jewish holidays serve as a
means of dramatizing and concre

is the best example of this on
our Jewish calendar. The Hag-

appeal. It speaks to the heart of £
the Jew when it reminds him of
his Exodus from Egypt, but to all »
mankind when, in a world where y
there is still too much of bondage j y
and servitude, it voices the hope
of freedom not for the Jew alone
but for all God’s children. The
Haggadah reminds us of our Jew
ish struggles to maintain our basic
freedoms but its application to the
wars for freedom of our day is
obvious.
Consider, too, the ingenuity of
this Passover Seder Service. There
are the “four sons” reminding us
in a clever setting of our own in
dividual possibilities; there are
the "four cups” reminding us
that four times in Scripture God
speaks of our deliverance from
Egypt; there are the "four ques
tions” admonishing us that each
year it is well for us to repeat
the remarkable story of the Pass-
over. There is the note of hope in
