Atlanta Hadassah Preparing For
Banner Year, Says President
“A wonderful vigor and spirit
of dedication is being manifested
by Hadassah chairmen and their
committees,” says Mrs. David Le
vin, president of the Atlanta
Chapter of Hadassah.
“All throughout the hot sum
mer months, our Atlanta Hadas
sah leaders have been working
and planning for a banner year
in the service of Hadassah and
Israel. If long range planning,
enthusiasm and hard work is an
indication of this year’s activities,
then we are assured that Atlanta
Hadassah members can really look
forward to exceptionally well
planned programs at the group
meetings as well as all chapter
meetings. A fine educational pro.
gram for the year will be in line
with our organization’s dynamic
program, which helps foster cre
ative and intelligent Jewish liv
ing, and, of course, our members
will experience a keen satisfac
tion in participating in an organ
ization that has achieved a record
of distinguished humanitarian
service.”
The membership campaign is
now in full swing, and Mrs. Jack
Silver, who is chapter new mem
bership chairman, says “each
chairman of the various groups
has been working for one of the
largest enrollment of new mem
bers. The season will open this
year with group meetings of all
four of the afternoon groups —
Tel Chai, Henrietta Szold, Herz-
lia and Kadimah — to welcome
the new members and renew
friendships in the service of Ha
dassah. Each member can be
assured of a ready welcome and
will find a Hadassah place to par
ticipate in the organization’s dy
namic program.
“Our educational program will
include a Hebrew Class, which
will be led by one of our most
beloved and well-known Hebrew
teachers, Mr. Leon Steinberg.
Last year, each of the groups, con
ducted ‘Hebrew - conversation’
sessions at their board meetings.
So enthusiastic has been the re
sponse that we have now set up

Speaking of further plans for
the year, Mrs. Levin announced
that Mrs. Raphael Tourover of
Washington will be guest speak
er at Hadassah’s Annual Brunch
in November. Mrs. Louis Smith,
vice president of the chapter, is
chairman of the brunch. Detailed
plans will be announced later.
The two evening groups, the
Business and Professional Group
and the Emma Lazarus Group,
an integral part of the Atlanta
Chapter, will soon announce the
dates of their evening meetings
as well as their plans for the year,
Mrs. Levin added.
In urging Atlanta women to
join the Atlanta Chapter of Ha
dassah, Mrs. Levin continued:
“There is a place in Hadassah for
every Jewish woman to deepen
her sense of identification with
Israel through strongly-knit spir
itual and cultural ties.”
