Postpone Luncheon
For Hadassah “Angels”
Because of the death of Frank
Garson, the Luncheon planned
by Mrs. Garson for Hadassah
Angels and sponsors on Sep
tember 29 at the Standard
Town and Country Club has
been postponed until a later
date.

Stowell-Kline
Mr. and Mrs. Kenneth K.
Stowell of Bronxville, N. Y., and
Friendship, Maine, have made
known the engagement of their
daughter Miss Margaret Eliza
beth (Betsy) Stowell, to Allen
Eugene Kline. He is a son of
Mrs. Simeon J. Steinbach of At
lanta and the late Jacob M. Kline.
The prospective bride studied
at Colby College and graduated
from Wellesley College. She was
introduced to s o c i e ty at the
Westchester Cotillion. Miss
Stowell is a granddaughter of the
late Dr. and Mrs. William L.
Stowell of New York and Bronx
ville. She is residing in San
Francisco, Calif., where she is as
sociated with the American As
sociated Insurance Companies.
Allen Eugene Kline graduated
from Harvard College, magna
cum laude. He was a member of
Phi Beta Kappa. He received his
law degree from Harvard Uni
versity and is a member of the
California and Georgia bar. He
was law clerk to Hon. William
E. Orr, U.S. Circuit Judge of the
Ninth Judicial Circuit, San Fran
cisco, Calif He is now associated
with the law firm of Smith, Kil
patrick, Cody, Rogers and Mc-
Clatchey in Atlanta, Ga.
Co-incidently, Mr. Stowell is a
graduate of Harvard University
where he received his degree in
architecture. Mrs. Stowell is a
graduate of Wellesley College.
The wedding will take place
at Temple Emanuel in San Fran
cisco late in the fall — wedding
date to be announced later.

Southern Nitrogen Fertilizer Company
Will Invest $14,000,000 in Georgia
Artist's conception of Hugo fertilizer concern
NEW SAVANNAH INDUSTRY — Artist’s sketch of $14,000,000 petro
chemical plant which Southern Nitrogen Company, Inc. will build at Savan
nah, according to Governor Marvin Griffin. The plant will produce 250 tons
per day of ammonia which it will convert to nitrogen solutions for fertilizer
use in Georgia and the Southeast. First synthetic nitrogen plant in the South
Atlantic states, it is expected to save Georgia fanners and fertilizer men
approximately $1,000,000 annually. Scott Candler, secretary of the Georgia
Department of Commerce, said about 200 workers will be employed with an
annual payroll of $1,000,000. Plant President John R. Riley said farmers and
the fertilizer industry in South Atlantic states will ultimately realize an onnnaj
savings of $3,000,000 because of the plant's location and operation.
