to attend the graduation of their
son Lari^y from Vanderbilt Uni
versity.

Mrs. Ruth Geller, the former
Ruth Copelan of Atlanta, is tour
ing Europe.

Mr. and Mrs. Leon Voll of At
lanta will leave Saturday to visit
a daughter in New York. While
there, they plan to celebrate
their 30th wedding anniversary
on June 6. Then Mr. Voll plans
to leave for Russia to visit his
mother and six brothers and sis
ters whom he has not seen for
33 years. He is hoping nothing
will prevent hhis going. He has
written Assurance from the So-

his passport will be waiting.

of Atlanta, received his Doctor of
Medicine Degree on May 28 from
Tulane University.

Attorney Baron Asfier Jr. has
been admitted to practice before
the Supreme Court of the United
States. He was recently sworn in
by Chief Justice Earl Wai-ren at
a ceremony in Washington. Mr.
Asher is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Baron Asher of Atlanta.
Miss Leah Feinberg, daughter
of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Feinberg
of West Point, Ga., has won a
scholarship for Junior Achieve
ment. She will enroll next fall
at the University of Georgia.

Lloyd Dubroff of Dothan has
won the Future Farmers of
America speaking contest in Tal
lahassee. He was to compete for
the state championship in Day
tona Beach. Lloyd is also being
considered to accompany Ad
miral Byrd on an expedition to
the South Pole.

Piano Recitals
Norma Glazer Jacobs present
ed her piano students in dual
recitals on Sunday, May 27, and
Thursday, May 31, at 1738 John
son Rd.
The programs were dedicated
to the memory of Mozart whose
200th anniversary is being cele
brated this year all over the
world.
On Sunday afternoon the per
formers were David Alperin,
Diane Chereton, Carol Cohen,
Marcia Fitterman, Rachel Fitter-
man, Janice Greenberg, Rene
Parzen, Jeanette Pichulik, Louis
Pichulik, Sandra Silverman, and
Eileen Taratoot.
On Thursday evening the per
formers were Sylvia Degan,
Diane Garfinkel, Patricia Garstad,
Margot Katz, Lois Levin, Arlene
Margoles, Elaine Maziar, Jerry
Maziar, Marilyn Maziar, and
David Velkoff.

Mrs. Ralph Abelman of Chat
tanooga addressed the recent meet
ing of Dothan Hadassah which
has been reorganized with Mrs.
Herman Blumberg as president.
Supporting Mrs. Blumberg will
be Mrs. Abbie Minsk, vice presi
dent; Mrs. Nathan Greenberg, re
cording secretary and Mrs. Sam
Blumenfeld, treasurer.
Bar Mitzvah of Robert Lynn
Kraselsky will be held at 7:30
p.m. Friday, June 1, at Temple
services. A reception will follow
at the home of the parents, Mr.

Ben Golden was installed as
the 1956-57 president of the At
lanta Zionist District at the or
ganization’s final meeting of the
year last week. Other officers
elected for the coming year in

kin and Joseph Gross, vice pres
idents; Jack Mazier, treasurer;
Herman Popkin, recording secre
tary; Malcolm Minsk, financial
secretary; and Sol P. Benamy,
parlementarian.
Officers were installed by Sey
mour B. Liebman of Miami
Beach, Fla., president of the
Southeastern Section of the Zi
onist Organization. Another out
standing feature of the meeting
was the presentation of national
Z.O.A. Citations of Honor for
“distinguished service to Israel,
the American Jewish Communi
ty, and the Zionist movement”
by the retiring president, Mr.
Benamy, to the following leaders:
Henry Birnbrey, Melvin A.
Brown, Ben Golden, Lou Jackson,
Dr. and Mrs. Sidney Q. Janus,
Edward M. Kahn, Barney Med-
intz, Ben J. Massell, Morris Mit-
zner, Herman Popkin and Max
S. Robkin.

A memorial scholarship fund
has been established in tribute
to the late Dan Besser, popular
young member of the Shearith
Israel Congregation. Donations
can be made through Mrs. Eliza
beth Sherman. When the fund
has reached a minimum of $1,-
000, the income will be distrib
uted to promote educational and
youth activities of the Syna
gogue, a field to which Mr. Besser
was devoted.
The Shearith Israel library'
will be open from 9 a.m. to 1
p.m. daily during the summer for
the use of congregational fami
lies.

The Beth Jacob Sisterhood will
hold its annual Fish Fry on Sun
day, June 3, from 12 noon to 6
p.m. at the Pavilion in Piedmont
Park, according to Mrs. Julius
Perlinski, sisterhood president.
Mrs. Louis Taffel, vice presi
dent in charge of fund raising,
and her committee state that a
complete fish dinner with all the
trimmings will be offered on an
“all-you-can-eat” basis at the
much-anticipated event for only
$1.
Proceeds from the Fish Fry go
toward the upkeep of the Beth
Jacob Sunday School, and the
entire community is invited to
partake of the repast and help a
very worthy endeavor at the
same time, Mrs. Perlinski said.

included the staff of the Israeli
Consulate, Nahum Astar and Miss
Chava Beton. Mr. Astar spoke
at the dinner board meeting which
proceeded the open meeting at
the Mayfair Club.

The Ida Saul Chapter No. 314,
B.B.G., held its installation on
May 12, 1956 in the Paradise
Room of the Henry Grady Hotel.
Mrs. Bernard Facher, president
of B’nai B’rith Women’s Chapter
of Atlanta, installed the follow
ing new officers: Mildred Morris,
president; Helen Schlffman, vice
president; Lillian Abrams, secre
tary; Adrienne Priven, corres
ponding secretary; Vera Metzel,
treasurer; Rochelle Silverstein,
editor, Michele Bernard, reporter;
Faye Lovinger, counselor.
Three trophies were awarded,
one to the best all-around girl,
one to the most cooperative, and
one to the best athlete. All three
were won by one girl, Pearl Moss-
man, which awards she really de
served. Her contributions to the
chapter have been outstanding.
The new executives were hon
ored at a dance given at the home
of Mr. and Mrs. Jake Morris.
The chapter’s advisors are Mrs.
Clarence Schiffman and Mrs.
