now admit that the main reason
why Premier David Ben Gurion
decided finally to replace Moshe

Foreign Minister was the fact
that during the past year Israel
had failed on all diplomatic fronts

that the change has been made,
the whole nation looks forward to

One day after Premier Ben

the Egyptian Government had a

that Egypt has finally taken over
possession of the former British
base, Israelis are wondering
whether Col. Nasser will carry
through the plan. Informed ob

partition.
“Russia ha$ moved into the

“The Arab-Israeli problem is now
seen as secondary by many and
probably by most Western dip

Saturday, June 23, was the day
in which Egypt witnessed a Hit-

persons are expected to wield the
same power they have held since
a military clique overthrew King

Dr. Kalman J. Mann, Director
General of the Hadassah Medical

invited by the World Health Or

a paper on the Organization of

American and European scien
tists have found what they be
lieve is an important clue to the
reconstruction of a humanoid, or
ancestor of man, who lived 10
million years ago. Their fossil
find, discovered some 120 miles
northwest of Rome, disproves the
hiterto accepted Darwinian the
ory of man’s envolvement on
earth and backs the non-ape man
idea.
“Mrs. Myerson started out as
Israeli chicken farmer,” is the
title of a Nev^ York World Tele

“Mrs. Myerson was born in Rus

job in the United States, then
emigrated to Palestine. In her
58 years,” says the Close-Up,
“she has been a schoolteacher,
chicken farmer, union organizer,

pro-Arab stand, the East German
Government has again officially
declared that it feels no obliga

THE NATIONAL SCENE
Seweryn Bialer, a high-ranking
former Polish official who defect
ed to the West early this year,
revealed upon his arrival in
America last week that the So

fensive against capitalism as soon
as colonies have been isolated
from the Western powers.
Summoned to Washngton by
the House Committee on Un-
American Activities, Rabbi Abra

tee members had identified Bick
as an alleged writer for several
Communist publications. Mean

Addressing the opening session
of the two-day conference of
American Jewish Congress lead

week, Mrs. Thelma Richman,
president of the Women’s Di

the U. S. Government to abandon
its policy of “appeasing Arab

A Los Angeles housewife, Mrs.
Belle Gerald, who had decided
to find out for herself what it is
all about in the Middle East, has
returned with this report: It
should be known that the Arabs
were not driven from Palestine.
Their displacement is the direct
result of Pied Piper tactics of
their own rulers, who urged them
to flee, giving glowing promises
of Israel’s defeat on termination
of British mandate. Mrs. Ger
ald expressed the belief that the
assets of 250,000 Jews, confiscat
ed by Arab governments when
these Jews came to Israel from
Arab countries, could well be ap
plied toward claims of Arab na
tionals who fled Israel.
