Harry Yermovsky
SAVANNAH — Harry Yermov
sky, 77, of Waycross, died June
15. Funeral services were held
June 15 at the chapel of Sipple’s
Mortuary. Rabbi A. I. Rosenberg
and Cantor Paul Gewirz officiat
ed. Interment was in Bonaven-
ture Cemetery.
Mr. Yermovsky, a native of
Russia, came to the United States
in the early part of the century
and went to Waycross in 1907,
where for many years he operat
ed a mercantile business. He was
familiarly known as “Mr. Good
man.”
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Rosa Koshiritz Yermovsky; two
sons, Ralph and Jake, both of
Waycross; Mrs. Lee Englebery of
Waycross and Mrs. Barney Poller
of Savannah, and ten grandchil
dren.
Michael Borochoff
Michael Borochoff, 85, of At
lanta, died July 4. Funeral ser
vices were held July 5 in the
chapel of Henry M. Blanchard
& Son. Interment was in Green
wood Cemetery. Rabbi Tobias
Geffen officiated.
A retired retail grocer, Mr.
Borochoff came to Atlanta from
Odessa, Russia, 66 years ago.
Surviving are two sons, Louis
Borochoff, Miami, and Oscar
Borochoff, Rome; a brother, Se-
lig Borochoff, Los Angeles; two
sisters, Mrs. Mike Shurman, New
York, and Mrs. Louis Merlin,
Miami; four grandchildren and
five great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Adolf Shulhafer
SAVANNAH — Mrs. Augusta
Shulhafer, widow of Adolf Shul
hafer, died June 24. Funeral ser
vices were held June 26 at the
graveside in Bonaventure Ceme
tery. Rabbi Solomon E. Starrels
officiated.
Mrs. Shulhafer was a member
of Mickve Israel congregation, the
Sisterhood and the Council of
Jewish Women.
Surviving are a daughter, Mrs.
I. A. Solomon, Savannah; a son
Philip Shulhafer, Atlanta; a bro
ther, Aaron Guthman, Savannah;
two sisters, Mrs. E(J Gibian, Sa
vannah and Mrs. Alfred Fox, At
lanta; three grandchildren; seven
great-grandchildren and several
nieces and nephews.
Sol A. Love
Sol A. Love, 71, of Atlanta, died
July 8. Funeral services were held
July 9 at Westview Abbey. In
terment was in Westview Abbey.
Rabbi Newton Jerome Friedman
of Macon officiated.
Mr. Love, a retired sales pro
moter, had lived in Atlanta 50
years. He was a member of the
Elks.
Surviving are four sisters, Mrs.
J. V. Malcolm, Mrs. Hazel Kap
lan, Mrs. Norman Barnett, and
Mrs. Louis Langston, all of At
lanta.

Louis Caplan
NASHVILLE, Tenn. — Louis
Caplan, 77, died July 1st. Ser
vices were held in the chapel of
West End Synagogue with Rev.
Arthur Hartzberg and Rev. Ber
nard Glussman officiating. Grave
side services were conducted by
the Cumberland Lodge No. 8
F&AM.
Mr. Caplan was a member of
the Cumberland lodge for 40
years and was worshipful master
of the Masonic Order. He was
a member of the Scottish rite
and A1 Menah Temple Shriners.
He also was a member of West
End Synagogue.
Surviving are his wife; two
sons, Aaron Caplan of Athens,
Tenn., and Charles Caplan of
Atlanta; a granddaughter, Mrs.
Stanford Makover of Atlanta;
grandson, Dr. Gerald E. Caplan
of Berkeley Calif.; six grand
children and three great-grand
children.
Miss Etta Bluestein
DARIEN, Ga. — Funeral ser
vices for Miss Etta Bluestein, 54,
were held at Sipple’s Mortuary
June 8. Rabbi Milton Grenwald
of Brunswick officiated. Inter
ment was in Bonaventure Ceme
tery .
Surviving are four sisters, Miss
Sarah Bluestein of Savannah,
Mrs. S. J. Balser and Mrs. A. S.
Sherman, both of Atlanta, Mrs.
S. M. Frenkel of Charleston, S. C.,
and two brothers, Jack Bluestein
and Sam Bluestein, both of Da
rien.
Mrs. Annie C. Poller
SAVANNAH — Mrs. Annie C.
Poller, 88, widow of Michael
Wolfe Poller, died June 7. Fu
neral services were held at the
chapel of Sipple’s Mortuary, June
8.. Rabbi Bernard Jacobson and
Cantor Paul Gewirz officiated.
Interment was in Bonaventure
Cemetery.
A native of Russia, Mrs. Poller
came to the United States in
1909. She became a naturalized
citizen seven years ago in Sa
vannah, and was the oldest per
son ever to be naturalized here.
Mrs. Poller had been a mem
ber of B. B. Jacob Synagogue for
41 years. She was a member of
the Hebrew Women’s Society and
the Jewish Women’s Aid Society.
Surviving are three sons, Bar
ney Poller, Savannah; Jake Pol
ler, Cairo, Ga.; and Abe Poller,
Tampa, Fla.; ten grandchildren,
six great-grandchildren and three
great-great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Ada Hoffman
Mrs. Ada Hoffman, 65 of At
lanta died July 3. Funeral ser
vices were held July 4 In the
chapel of Henry M. Blanchard
& Son. Interment was in Green
wood Cemetery. Rabbi Tobias
Geffen officiated.
Surviving are her husband,
Hyman Hoffman; three sons, Dr.
Phillip Hoffman, Chattanooga,
and Norman and Dr. Gerald
Hoffman, Atlanta.
Mrs. Katherine Herron
Mrs. Katherine B. Herron, 58,
of Atlanta, died July 3. Funeral
services were held July 4 in the
chapel of Henry M. Blanchard &
Son. Rabbi Newton J. Friedman
of Macon officiated. Interment
was in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Herron was a member of
the Miriam Chapter, Order of the
Eastern Star, in New Orleans.
She also was a member of the
Temple here.
Mrs. Herron a native Atlantan,
had lived in New Orleans for
many years. She returned to At
lanta eight years ago.
Surviving are a son, Stantford
Herron of Naugatuck, Conn.; a
brother, Isadore Borochoff of At
lanta; four sisters, Mrs. B. W.
Malloy of Stamford. Conn.; Mrs.
Charles Peretman of Miami
Beach; Mrs. Murray Simon of Mi
ami, and Mrs. Louis Borochoff of
Miami.

Forms New Zionist
District - NC’s 18th
HENDERSONVILLE, N. C. —
Mr. Seymour B. Liebman, presi
dent of the Southeast Region of
the Zionist Organization of Am
erica, has announced the forma
tion of a new District in Hender
sonville, N. C. In the past the
Hendersonville membership were
included in the Asheville Zionist
District.
Mr. Louis Williams a long time
Hendersonville businesss man and
community leader will act as
chairman of the District until
regular elections are held in the
fall.
Gilbert Rappaport, Director of
the Southeast Region of the Zi
onist Organization of America has
just visited Hendersonville and
has outlined activities for the
coming year with some of the
Districts leaders. The Henderson
ville District will be the 18th Dis
trict of the Zionist Organization
of America in North Carolina.
