Servicemen from 9 Installations Feted at Annual USO-JWB Fish Fry & Picnic
FREDDY MARTEL REPAYS A DEBT — Biltmore Hotel Star Freddy Martel, who enjoyed the hos
pitality of USO while on active Navy duty as an aerial gunner, contributes his talents as a civilian to
help entertain the men now In uniform. Here he sings with the Biltmore Hotel Orchestra before a
part of the four hundred guests at the Master Grill at Chastain Memorial Park (North Fulton).

his wife. Pvt. Rosen, stationed at

—and congratulations from Tony
Snyder, Biltmore Hotel official.

can be heard every weekday at

Room, gave up their only day
off to furnish the entertainment
at the outing.
Singer Martel (lower left), who
studied at Juliard and composes
songs of his own, gave away
over two hundred autographed
discs of his own composition -
recording “Heartache” to the men
and women attending the fish
fry.
Mrs. A1 Schwartz, president of the Jewish War Veterans Auxiliary,
is shown serving Paratrooper Jack Morris, Kingston, N. Y., of Ft.
Benning, while Airman John S. Williams, Arlington, Texas., sta
tioned at Naval Air Station looks on. The following organizations
cooperated with the Atlanta USO-JW'B in making the event a
success — the Atlanta USO Committee; USO-YWCA Center; Dob
bins Air Force Base, Ft. McPherson Special Services, Jewish War
Veterans Auxiliary of Atlanta and the Atlanta Jewish Community
Center.
