Ahavath Achim To Honor Faculty Of 55
Ahavath Achim Congregation
will honor the fifty-five teachers
and supervisors of its educational
system at special services at the
Synagogue at 8:15 p.m. Friday,
Nov. 2.
Teachers of the Nursery School,
Hebrew School and Religious
School will be honored at the
service which is being dedicated
to them. Rabbi Harry H. Epstein
will deliver a special sermon on
the role of the teacher in the
religious educational program at
the A.A. Members of the con
gregation and parents are urged
to attend.
A special issue of ‘‘Who’s Who
on the A.A. Staff” will be issued
for the occasion.
The committee handling ar
rangements include Joseph Cuba,
president; Morris Manning, Ser
vices chairman; Mrs. Si Rosen-
blum, Sisterhood president; Max
Rittenbaum, educational chair
man; Mrs. Jacob Levitt and Mrs.
Bernard W. Cohen, chairman of
the Sisterhood educational com
mittee; Mrs. Barney Medintz,
head room mothers; Mrs. Jake
Bressler and Mrs. Harry Dwo-
skin, Nursery School.
The Congregation currently had
an enrollment of 1303 pupils, as
of October 8, with the educa
tional program under the super
vision and guidance of Dr. Ep
stein and Alex Kaminetsky, ed
ucational director.

1.
Petitioners desire to bo Incorporated
and made a body corporate under the
laws of this State under the name and
style of
"EMMANUEL CHURCH SCHOOL
CORP.”
for a period of thirty-five (35) years,
with full rlRht of renewal ns may be
provided by law, with Its principal
office at such place In Fulton County,
Georgia, ns Its trustees may from time
to time determine.
2.
The object and purpose of snld cor-
portatlon Is the desire to be chartered
ns an educational Institution and not
for pecuniary gain, for the establish
ment, maintenance and support of a
church school to teach any and all
subjects within the tenets of the
Lutheran fnlth, and to acquire and ad
minister funds and property which, nf-
ter the payment of necessary expenses,
shall be devoted exclusively to the
cause of charity, education and re
ligion.
3.
Snld corporation Is not organized
and shall not be operated for pecuni
ary gain or profit and It shall have
no capital stock.
4.
No part of the property of said cor
poration and no part of Its net earn
ings shall ever at any time Inure to
the benefit of any private shareholder
or Individual, nor shall said corpora
tion have the power to, and shall
never, carry on propaganda or other
wise attempt to Influence legislation.
5.
The. corporation shall have the power
and authority to accept gifts and con
tributions, whether made by will or
otherwise. In any form of property,
provided that the objects specified by
the testator or donor are within the
objects and purposes of the corpora
tion.
8.
The governing body of the corpora
tion shall consist of not less than
three (3) nor more than seven (7) mem
bers. which shall be designated the
Hoard of Trustees. The Incorporators
shall be the first members of the
Board of Trustees. Each of the mem
bers of the Roard shall serve for a
term of five (51 years but mav resign
at any time. Upon the death or resig
nation of anv member of the Board,
a majority of the remaining Trustees
shall choose his successor. Should a
member of the Board of Trustees be
come disabled or for any cause or
reason cease to function and the same
continue for a period exceeding twelve
(12) months, then the remaining mem
bers of the Board shall have the power
to declare the office vacant and elect
a successor trustee In the manner pro
vided above.
7.
The Board of Trustees, by majority
vote, shall have the power to adopt
all rules and regulations and by-laws
consistent with the charter and the
conduct and affairs and activities of
the corporation.
8.
The officers of the corporation shall
be a Chairman of the Board of Trus
tees. a Vice-Chairman, a Secretary and
a Treasurer; the latter two offices
may be held by one person. The
Trustees may appoint such committees
and agents and create such other of
fices as they shall deem best, and del
egate to them such powers and duties
as In the discretion of the Trustees
may seem appropriate.
9.
The corporation, upon the vote of a
majority of Its trustees at the time
then In office, shall have the power
to do and perform any and all the
powers conferred by this charter, or
the laws of the State of Georgia, and
shall likewise Have all other powers,

or hereaft be vested in similar
corporatlo ding, but not being

tion 22-1803, Georgia Code Annotated.

may be incorporated under the Cor
poration Act of 1938, as amended by
the Acts of 1949, p. 953.
13.
They desire to obtain property, both
real and personal, by any lawful
means, to hold, use and enjoy the
same; and to be allowed to sell, ex
change, mortgage, lease or in any other
way deal with the same as may be
come desirable In the conduct of the
purpose of the Incorporation of the
Institution.
WHEREFORE, petitioners pray that
they may be Incorporated under the
name and style aforesaid, with all the
rights, privileges and immunities here
inbefore set out, and such other
rights, privileges and Immunities as
are or may hereafter be conferred
upon corporations of like character
under the laws of Georgia.

is recovering at home after a re
cent operation at Georgia Baptist
Hospital.
Dr. and Mrs. Jack Silver of
Atlanta, attended the Georgia
State Dental Convention this
week in Savannah.

wedding anniversary Mr. and Mrs.
Joseph N. Unger of Miami, sail
ed from New York aboard the
S.S. Ryndam for a two-month
tour of Europe. Mrs. Unger is

daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph
Frankel of Atlanta.
S. Randolph (Randy) Feinberg
of Atlanta, a 1956 graduate of
the University of Georgia, has
enlisted in the Navy, and is now
attending Officer Candidate
School at Newport, R. I. He ma
jored in physical education and
received a BS degree. Randy is
the son of Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Feinberg and grandson of Mr.
and Mrs. Louis Mislow pf Atlanta
and Mr. Abe Feinberg of Col
umbus.
