Joseph Gross addressed the
Advisory Committee of the Bass
Community Council in Atlanta on
“Attacking Neighborhood Blight”
on Wednesday, Nov. 7.
Sol Benamy and Robert Travis
were elected honorary presidents
at the nineteenth annual South
east ZOA convention in Nashville.
Both are pioneers in the organi
zation. Dr. Sidney Janus was
chosen honorary vice president.
Elected to the administrative com
mittee were Henry Birnbery, Sol
Eplan, Harry Glassman, Joseph
Gross, Malcolm Minsk and Her
man Popkin. A spebial committee
consisting of Mr. Benamy, Mr.
Golden and Mr. Gross was named
to examine a proposed camp site
for the campaigning program of
the Southern Zionist Youth Com-
Open Board Meeting
Nov. 13 for Szold
An open board meeting of the
Henrietta Szold Group of Hadas-
sah will be held at 10 a.m.,
Tuesday, Nov. 13, at the Jewish
Community Center, according to
Mrs. Morris Cohen, president.
Free coffee and doughnuts will
be served between 10 and 10:15
a.m. to members and visitors. A
feature of the program will be a
report on the National Hadassah
Convention hold Oct. 14-17 in
Houston by Mr. A1 Robbins, Vice
president in charge of fund rais
ing who was the group’s official
delegate.
Another feature will be a spec
ial United Nations feature.
The Szold Group will use the
meeting for the kickoff of its
membership drive, whose aim is
to collect the balance of unpaid
dues. Mrs. Joseph Struletz, Mrs.
E. Berman, Mrs. Paul Ambery
and Mrs. Robert A. Glass are di
recting the membership commit
tee workers who will meet at
10 a.m. at the AJCC to get names
of members who have not paid
dues.

The B’nai B’rith Youth Council
extends a cordial invitation to
members of all youth groups in
Atlanta, together with their pa
rents, to attend the religious ser
vices at the Shearith Israel Ed
ucational Building at 8 p.m., Fri
day, Nov. 16.
All Atlanta chapters of A. Z. A.
and B. B. G. will participate in
the service. Refreshments will be
served after the service.
