CARAVAN, a Regional spon
sored activity, has become one of
Hadassah’s most successful un
dertakings. It has been accomp
lished through the effort and de
termination of Mrs. Morris Co
hen and Mrs. Charles Weiner.
The first CARAVAN was born
two years ago. On CARAVAN
trips, a one-day visit by a team
of 4 or 5, is made to chapters in
the Region, bringing to them a
well planned program. This visit
is a sincere endeavor by Region
to present a rounded day geared
to the needs of the chapter and
its community. The teams realize
that they make up the important
fingers to help each chapter they
visit. The Chapter, in turn, makes
up the hand in need. Working
together, the Region is strength

find similar problems and a means
of solving them.
Never dreaming in the begin
ning what a magnificent Leader
ship Training field CARAVAN
would become, Mrs. Cohen had
this to say with enthusiasm. “I’ve
gotten real “nochas” from CARA

membered by the team — How
can We best do the job for the
chapter we are going into today!
Last year Atlanta made five
trips. Growth of interest in this
activity has brought others ino
the picture. Columbia took a suc
cessful trip to Aiken, South Caro
lina this year and Atlanta joined
LaGrange on a trip to Rome. Free
exchange of ideas between chapt
ers and lasting friendships add
to CARAVAN’S success. A won
derful over-night venture to Val
dosta was rpade by an Atlanta
team.
The outstanding members in
the Region participating last year
and they are as follows: Atlanta;
Mesdames Charles Weiner, Mor
ris Cohen, Sidney Kaplan, Ed
ward Reisman, Robert Travis,
David Levin, Edward Reich, Ray
mond Reisman, Stanley Tenen-
baum, Milton Weinman, and Hen
ry Meyer; LaGrange: Mesdames
Isaac Struletz and Reavin Bar-
skin; and Columbia, S. C. — Mes
dames Sherman Gordon, Charles
Lawrenz. Lee Baker, and Melvin
Abelove.
Drew Pearson would probably
predict, and rightly so, that CAR
AVAN will continue to grow, de
veloping leadership, encouraging
an exchange of ideas, and enrich
ing the region.

Southern Zionist Youth Commis
sion.
Mr. Harry Kosansky, Director
of the Southern Zionist Youth
Commission, will be the resource
person at this stimulating session.
Becoming better informed about
the program of the Youth Com
mission presents a challenge in
this important phase of Hadas
sah’s work.
