an effort to expand the Heart
program in this area and to sup
port the program of research, ed
ucation, and community services
carried out by the Georgia Heart
Association.
Present indications are that this
effort to expand the drive and to
put it on a level in relation to
other health drives in this area
should be successful.
Mr. Feldman said that he hoped
to see the heart disease problem
placed in its proper perspective
as the number one menace to the
health and welfare of our state
and nation. Last year, more than
half of all deaths in the country
were caused by heart diseases, he
pointed out.
Among those serving with Mr.
Feldman as vice chairman are:
Mr. Jack Isenberg, of the Isengor
Camera Exchange, responsible for
corporations, club plan firms,
club-corporations divisions. Other
vice chairmen are Eugene Brint-
lev and Dr. Donald R. Wilson.
Dr. James A. Kaufmann, co-
chairman of the doctor’s division,
presented a check for $10,000, re
presenting Atlanta physicians’
gifts thus far, at the annual kick
off d inner February 1 to the
Heart Association.
