Mr. and Mrs. Alexander Block
of Atlanta announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Brenda
Ellen Block, to Stanley Schube,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Abe Schube
of New York.
Miss Block attended New York
Community College for Dental
Hygiene and the University of
Miami. She is a member of the
Rho Delta Eta Gamma sorority.
Mr. Schube attended Long
Island University and is a mem
ber of the Tau Delta Phi fratern
ity. He is now a member of the
Armed Forces. The wedding will
take place March 1 at the Pro
gressive Club.
Schlesinger - Lcf koff
Mr. and Mrs. Milton Schlesinger
of Sumter, S. C., announce the en
gagement of their daughter, Merle
Joanne Schlesinger, to Joseph
Lefkoff of Atlanta, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Maier Lefkoff.
Miss Schlesinger is a junior at
Emory University where she is
secretary of Delta Sigma Epsilon
social club and is on the Inter-
Club Council. She served as
sponsor of Tau Epsilon Phi Fra
ternity and was winner of the
Pretty Girl contest her freshman
year.
Mr. Lefkoff received a B. A.
degree from Emory University
where he served as president of
Tau Epsilon Phi Fraternity, pres
ident of Pi Sigma Alpha political
science fraternity, and was elect
ed to Phi Beta Kappa. He was
awarded a fellowship to John
Hopkins University, where he did
graduate work in political science.
The future bridegroom is a fresh
man in the Emory University
School of Law and is pledged, to
the Phi Delta Phi legal fraternity.
The wedding will take place in
early summer.
Simmons-Silberman
Mr. and Mrs. Eugene Simmons
of Atlanta announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Claire
Robyn Simmons, to Ira Joel
Silberman, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Samuel Robert Silberman, of
Key West, Fla. Miss Simmons a
graduate of Grady High School
and Massey Business College, is
employed by the U.S. Public
Health Service. Mr. Silberman,
a graduate of Key West High
School, is a student at Georgia
Tech, where he is majoring in
industrial design. He is a mem
ber of Tau Epsilon Phi fraterni
ty.
Metzger - Jacobs
Announcement is made of the
engagement of Claire Metzger,
daughter of Sidney Metzger of
Selma, Ala., formerly of Atlanta,
and the late Mrs. Irma Weil
Metzger, to Joshua Jacobs, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Jacobs
of New York.
Miss Metzger attended Tulane
University and was graduated
from the College of Commerce,
University of Alabama where
she was a member of Beta Gam
ma Sigma. She is employed by
Young, Garber & Co., in At
lanta,
Mr. Jacobs, a graduate of Har
vard Law School, completed his
undergraduate studies at the Uni
versity of Chicago, where he was
elected to Phi Beta Kappa. He is
now practicing law in Atlanta
with I. T. Cohen and Ben Kohler
Jr.
Natkoff - Kaplan
Announcement is made of the
recent marriage of Glenda Lee
Natkoff, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Isadore Natkoff, to Allan
Morton Kaplan, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Murray Kaplan of Miami
Beach.
The marriage took place Sun
day, Feb. 2, at the Progressive
Club.
Murray Kaplan was his son’s
best man. Groomsmen were Jerry
Stein and Bernard Goldstein.
Junior groomsman was Master
Stanley Howard Furst. The
bride was attended by Mrs.
Charles Winick as matron of
honor. Bridesmaids were Miss
Gerri Goldstein and Miss Sara
Kaplan, sister of the groom. Jun
ior bridesmaid was Miss Marilyn
Jaye Rich and Flower-grl was
Miss Wendy Karyn Rich. Mrs.
Sidney Rich kept the bride’s
book.
Out-of-town visitors were Mr.
and Mrs. Robert Themper of
New Haven, Mr. and Mrs. Charles
Winick of New York City, Mr.
and Mrs. Morris Stein of Cin
cinnati, Mrs. Ella Lapping of
New York City, Mr. and Mrs.
Sam Hohauser, daughter Harriet,
son Herman, of Miami Beach,
Mrs. M. Goldberg and Miss Susan
Kaplan of Miami Beach. I Kap
lan, grandfather of the groom
from Miami Beach; Mr. and Mrs.

Lehwald - Kaminsky
SAVANNAH—Miss Delores Ann
Lehwald, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Henry Lehwald, became the
bride of Joseph Lawrence Kamin
sky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Pete
Kaminsky, December 29, at Agu-
dath Achim Synagogue. Rabbi
Herbert Berger performed the
double ring ceremony.
Harriet Cohen was maid of hon
or. The bridesmaids were Sheila
Fodor - Fox
Miss Pauline Fodor, daughter
of Mrs. Edith Fodor of Savan
nah and the late Mr. Fodor, be
came the bride of Ben Z. Fox of
Beaufort, S. C., son of Mr. and
Mrs. Abram Fox of Washington,
in the presence of the immediate
families. Rabbi Julius Fisher per
formed the ceremony.
A dinner was held following
the ceremony. Afater a wedding
trip to New Orleans, Mr. and
Mrs. Fox will live in Beaufort.

wald, Jules Paderewski and Allen
Kaminsky. Ushers were Arnold
Tenenbaum and David Scharff.
A reception was given at the
Jewish Educational Alliance fol
lowing the ceremony. Harriet
Canter assisted in serving and
Gloria Buchsbaum kept the bride’s
book.
The couple left on their wed
ding trip to New York and Ber
muda. On their return they will
be at home at 14 Thackeray
Place.
