Southeast Orthodox Congregations
To hold Conference In Charleston
Sixteen delegates from Congre
gation Beth Jacob will attend the
13th Annual Southeast Regional
Conv ention of the Union of
Orthodox Jewish Congregations
of America, February 28-March
2 in Charleston. The announce
ment was made by Jack Ber-
chenko, president of the con
gregation. Rabbi Emanuel Feld
man is the spiritual leader of
Beth Jacob.
The Convention is expected to
be the largest conclave of Ortho
dox Jewish synagogues in the
Southeast history with 69 con
gregations in eight southeastern
states being represented.
Beth Jacob delegates are: Rab
bi and Mrs. Emanuel Feldman,
Mr. Marvin Slotin, Mr. Louis
Taffel, Mr. and Mrs. Morris Sim-
berg, Mr. and Mrs. Cy Polan,
Mr. and Mrs. Maurice M. Krieg-
er, Mr. and Mrs. Ben Golden,
Mrs. Joseph J. Green, Mr. and
Mrs. Sol Abrams, Mr. and Mrs.

Jewish Education," and “Social
Action and the Synagogue.”
Panelists and discussion leaders
from Beth Jacob will include
Maurice Krieger, Sol Abrams,
Ben Golden, Marvin Slotin and
Morris Simberg. Committee and
plenary sessions will focus on
plans for region-wHde develop
ment, in the fields of youth ac
tivity, religious education and
community organization.
