Fashion Show
Marholin-Steinberger
Rita Judith Marholin of Atlan
ta, daughter of Mr. and Mrs.
Henry Jackaway, of Hollywood,
Fla., became the bride of Nor
man Frederic Steinberger, son of
Dr. and Mrs. Milton Steinberger
of Oakland Heights, Statesville,
N. C., in an afternoon ceremony
at the Progressive Club. Rabbi
Harry H. Epstein performed the
ceremony.
The bridegroom’s father was
his best man. Usher-groomsmen
were the bride's brother, George
Marholin, the bridegroom’s bro
ther, Stanley Steinberger of
Statesville, the bride’s nephew,
Stanley Fink of Augusta and the
bridegroom’s cousin. Saul Gord
on, of Statesville.
Sheila Wahl of Wilmington,
was maid of honor. Mrs. Alfred
Gordon of Statesville was ma
tron of honor. Melinda Fink of
Augusta was junior bridesmaid.
Following the ceremony, the
bride’s parents entertained at a
seated dinner. Mrs. George Mar
holin kept the bride’s book.
After a wedding trip to Florida
and Nassau, the couple will re
side* in Statesville.
GLASS-SHAMES
Mr. and Mrs. David W. Glass
of Orlando, announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Phyllis
Glass, to Jay Morton Shames,
son of Mr. and Mrs. David
Shames, also of Orlando.
Miss Glass, granddaughter of
Mrs. Phillip Glass of Atlanta, is
a student at the University of
Florida. She is a member of the
Alpha Epsilon Phi Sorority.
Mr. Shames attended the Uni
versity of Florida and is now a
student at Tulane Medical School.
He is a member of the Pi Lamb
da Phi Fraternity.
The wedding will be an event
of early summer.

Mrs. David Kahn, Sisterhood
president of Congregation Beth
Jacob, and Joseph Shuchatowitz,
principal of the Hebrew Institute
of Atlanta, which is sponsored by
Congregation Shearith Israel and
Beth Jacob, will each lead ses
sions at the Southeastern Syna
gogue Conference in Charleston
on February 28 to March 1.
Mrs. Kahn will chair the ses
sion of the sisterhoods of the
entire region, and will lead dis
cussions dealing with sisterhood
administration, fund-raising, and
programming.
Mr. Shuchatowitz will lead a
discussion on “The Jew in the
New* South” and will discuss
problems of Jewish education in
this area.

of Atlanta announce the engage
ment of their daughter, Sharon
Cristal, to Leonard Rinzler, son
of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Rinzler.
The bride-elect is a graduate
of Druid Hills Hhigh School,
where she belonged to the Sunev
sorority. She atttended the Uni
versity of Georgia, where she
was affiliated with the Delta Phi
Epsilon sorority and was a beau
ty sponsor for Phi Epsilon Pi
fraternity.
Mr. Rinzler, also a graduate
of Druid Hills High School, at
tended Georgia State College,
where he was a member of the
Tau Epsilon Phi fraternity. He
is established in business in
Atlanta.

Mr. and Mrs. A. Berinstein of
Albany, N. Y., celebrated their
golden wedding anniversary here,
where they were honored at a
dinner party at the Bon Air
Hotel. The dinner was given by
their daughter, Mrs. Ben H.
Steine of Warrenton and preced
ed by a cocktail party given by
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Steine of
Augusta. Rabbi Norman Gold-
burg performed the traditional
wedding ceremony, using the
same wide gold wedding bands
with which the couple plighted
their troth fifty years ago in Al
bany.
The Adas Yeshurun Synagogue
will hold its Purim Masquerade
Party on Sunday, Mar. 2 in the
Abram Pomerance Memorial
Hall.
Bruce and David Saul, 4 and
2 years old, entertained 30 of
their friends at a birthday party
at Wonderland Park. They are
the sons of Mr. and Mrs. Jerome
Saul.

the title chosen for Perennial
Garden Club’s next flower show
to be held March 13 at “Salu
brity Hall,” the home of Mr.
