SAVANNAH — Sheila Ruth
Gottlieb, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Milton Gottlieb of Savan
nah, became the bride of Wayne
Miller, son of Mrs. A. A. Miller
of Savannah, August 31, at the
B’nai B’rith Synagogue. Rabbi
A. I. Rosenberg performed the
ceremony.
Marcia Rosen was maid of
honor and the bride’s only at
tendant.
Harris Gottlieb, brother of the
bride, was best man. Usher-
groomsmen were Neal Marko
witz, Michael Schwartz. Hy Sess-
man, Isser Gottlieb and David
Gottlieb, brother of the bride.
Following the ceremony a re
ception was held in the social
hall.
Following a wedding trip Mr.
and Mrs. Miller will be at home
in Mount Rainer, Md.
RICH-VINESS
Judith Ellen Rich, daughter of
Mrs. Bernard David Bierman,
and the late Herman M. Rich,
became the bride of Joseph
David Viness, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Sam Viness of Chattanooga,
on September 7 at the Progress
ive Club. Rabbi Harry H. Ep
stein performed the ceremony.
Dr. Stanley Raden served as
best man. Harold Shallet, Jake
Froug and Aaron Franco were
groomsmen. The bride’s uncles,
Alfred Berman, Harry L. Ber
man, Harry H. Hyman and Na
than Lipton were ushers.
The bride was attended by her
sister, Mrs. Jake Froug, as ma
tron of honor, Arlene Klein,
Dorothy Moskowitz, and Rita
Gale Viness as bridesmaids.
Immediately follow ing the
ceremony the bride’s parents
entertained at a luncheon.
The couple will reside in New
Port News, Va.

SAVANNAH—Janet Silverman,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Louis
Silverman, became the bride of
Irwin Reed, son of Joseph Reed
and the late Mrs. Reed, at the
B’nai B’rith Synagogue recent
ly. The ceremony was perform
ed by Rabbi Abraham I. Rosen
berg and the Rev. Mordecai
Adler.
Mrs. Harry Silverman, sister-
in-law of the bride, was matron
of honor. Deanna Robbins, cou
sin of the bride registered the
guests n the bride’s book.
Harold Reed was his brother’s
best man. Ushers were Harry
Silverman, Ramon Silverman,
William Levine and David Herc-
kis.
A seated dinner was held in
the social hall of the synagogue
following the ceremony.
The couple spent their honey
moon in Miami and Nassau.

Miss Sherman attended the
University of Alabama and Arm
strong College. She will be a
sophomore at the University of
Georgia this year.
Mr. Cohen is a graduate of the
University of Georgia where he
received a BBA degree in ac
counting. He is a member of Tau
Epsilon Phi, social fraternity. He
will continue his studies this
fall at the University of Georgia
Law School. The wedding will
be held Dec. 28.

SAVANNAH — Mr. and Mrs.
Jack Toporek of Charleston, an
nounce the engagement of their
daughter, Rosalind Kay, to Stan
ley Karsman, son of Mr. and Mrs.
Henry of Savannah.
Miss Toporek is a gradate of
Rivers High School. She attend
ed the University of Georgia.
She is employed by the Citizens
& Southern National Bank as
assistant bookkeeper.
Mr. Karsman is a graduate of
Savannah High School and is
attending the University of Geor
gia, where he is a pre-law stu
dent in accounting. He is a
member of Tau Epsilon Phi
fraternity, X Club, honorary so
ciety, Inter-Fraternity Council
and Pre-Legal Club.
