the Jewish Educational Alliance,
followed by a reception.
The couple left for a wedding
trip South.

Mrs. Irvin Warshaw, sister of
the bridegroom, was matron of

Clein-Clein
Unveiling
Friends and relatives are in

Lena Clein and her daughter,
Miss Jeanette Clein, Sunday,
March 8, at 2:30 pm., at Green
wood Cemetery. Rabbi Harry H.
Epstein, assisted by Cantor

P. S. Clein, will officiate.
Leon Fay
Leon Fay, 60, of Atlanta, died
March 2. Funeral services were
held March 3 at Blanchard’s
Chapel. Rabbi Harry Epstein
officiated. Interment was in
Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Fay was a sales represen
tative for three children’s dress-
wear manufacturing companies.
Born in Russia, he moved from
Greenville, • S. C., to Atlanta
nine years ago.
He was a member *of the Aha-
vath Achim Synagogue, B’nai
B’rith, Jewish War Veterans,
Progressive Club and Fulton
Lodge, No. 216, F&AM. He was
a veteran of both world wars.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Shirley Zwart; a daugh
ter, Larraine Fay, and a son,
Marshall L. Fay, both of Atlan
ta; and three brothers, Harry
Fay, Walhalla, S. C., and Mich
ael and Charles Fay, both of
Brooklyn.

she is convalescing at home at

after undergoing surgery at the

Lt. Stanley Rosenthal, who is
enroute from Randolph Field,
Texas, to Homestead Air Force
Base, Fla., is spending a few
days with his parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Albert Rosenthal.
Miss Minna Lee Rubenstein
was recently presented an hon
orary life membership by the
Houghton PTA in appreciation
of her work during her 22 years
as a teacher. Miss Rubenstein is
the daughter of Mrs. Hattie
Rubenstein and the late Herman
Rubenstein.
Benjamin Karpf
SAVANNAH—Beniamin Karpf
died February 16. Funeral ser
vices were held February 17 at
Sipple’s Mortuary. Rabbi A. I.
Rosenberg and Cantor Mordecai
Adler officiated. Interment was
In Bona venture Cemetery.
Mr. Karpf was owner of a
downtown business for almost a
half century He was president
of an out-of-town chain of stores
for several years, returning to
Savannah in 1929.
Mr. Karpf was a member of
B’nai B’rith Jacpb Synagogue,
which he served as president of
the congregation ana led in the
synagogue’s many organizations.
He was past president of
Chevra Kadisha, which honored
him in 1942 for his long service
to the organization. He was a
member of B’nai B’rith, the
Zionist Organization of America.
Mizrachi, the H.G.H. Society, ana
the JEA. He was one of the
founders of the Hebrew Acade
my, which he served as president.
Mr. Karpf was also a member
of Zerrubabel Lodge, F.&A.M.,
and Alee Temple or the Shrine.
He was a 32na Degree Mason.
Bom in Austria, Mr. Karpf
was the son of the late Simon
Karpf and Fruma Shindelheim
Karpf.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Ethel Paul Karpf; a son, Isadore
Karpf of Savannah; thr£e daugh
ters, Mrs. M. J. Forstadt of New-
bem, N. C., Mrs. Richard Alter-
baum of Savannah and Mrs. I.
K. Zacks of Newbern; a brother,
Jacob Karpf of Brooklyn; two
sisters, Mrs. Max Richiman of
Savannah, and Mr£ Rose Katz
of Miami Beach, and 11 grand
children.
Abe Glazer
Abe Glazer, 47, of Atlanta,
died February 26. Funeral serv
ices were held February 27 at
Blanchard’s Chapel. Dr. Harry
H. Epstein and Cantor Joseph
Schwartzman officiated.
Mr. Glazer was a retired
grocer. A native of Poland, he
lived in Atlanta most of his life.
He was a member of the Aha-
vath Achim Synagogue, the Jew
ish War Veterans and the Pro
gressive Club.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Rose Berchenko; a
daughter, Gail Glazer; two sons,
Melvin and Jerry Glazer; moth
er, Mrs. H. Glazer, and a sister,
Mrs. Jennie Gilner, all of At
lanta, and a brother, Louis
Glazer, Indianapolis, Ind.
Addie Steinheimer
Miss Addie Steinheimer, 85.
retired Atlanta public school
teacher, died March 2. Graveside
services were held March 3 in
Westview Cemetery. Rabbi Jac
ob M. Rothschild officiated.
Miss Steinheimer was the
granddaughter of David Meyer,
one of the organizers of the At
lanta public schools. She taught
in the system for over 50 years
before her retirement. She
taught commercial subjects at
old Commercial High School.
She was a member of the
Temple, the Temple Sisterhood
and the Council of Jewish
Women.
Surviving are sisters, Mrs.
Henry Bauer, Sr., Mrs. Walter
W. Visanska and Mrs. Milton
Oelsner, all of Atlanta; a bro
ther, Lawrence M. Steinheimer
Sr., Savannah, and a sister-in-
law, Mrs. Morris Steinheimer,
Atlanta.

A native of New York, Mr.
Block lived in Atlanta about five
years. He was a member of the
Yaarab Temple. AAONMMS,
and the Shearitn Israel Syna
gogue.
Surviving are his wife, the
former Libby Silver; a son,
Warren Block, Atlanta: a daugh
ter, Mrs. Anita Bartell, Miami;
mother, Mrs. Maurice Block,
and a sister, Mrs. Estelle Gold-
meer, both of New York.
Mrs. Dora E. Ghertner
Mrs. Dora E. Ghertner, widow
of Simon E. Ghertner. one of
the founders of Cullom and
Ghertner Co., died March 2 in
Nashville. Funeral services were
held March 3 in Nashville at
the Temple with interment in
Nashville.
Mrs. Ghertner is survived by
a son, Gerald Ghertner, vice
president of the company and
general manager of the Atlanta
plant. She also leaves two other
sons, Alvin and Leonard Ghert
ner, Nashville.

Klyman,. 60, died February 19.

services and interment were held

Surviving are his wife, Mrs.
Vera Klyman; two daughters,
Mrs. Josephine K. Dubbins of
Chicago and Mrs. Perry K. Bider-
man of Miami; a son, Ensign
Joseph Klyman of Washington-
two sisters, Mrs. Chris Hansen of
Morgan City, La., and Mrs. Earl
Toomer of Thunderbolt; two
brothers, Abe Klyman and Harry
Klyman of New York City, and
five grandchildren.
