Will Conduct
Sisterhood Day
“Sisterhood” will be the, theme
of the monthly meeting of
Shearith Israel Sisterhood at
noon Monday, Nov. 16, in the
Synagogue Social Hall.
Mrs. Irving Libowsky, presi
dent, has announced that each
member is requested to bring a
non-Jewish friend as a guest.
Highlighting the program, un
der the direction oi Mrs. David
Berkman, will be a tour of the
Synagogue conducted by Rabbi
Sydney K. Mossman. Ceremonial
objects and Synagogue practices
will be explained, as well as de
tailed description of the various
religious holidays, how they are
celebrated and a view into the
woman’s role in preparing the
family and the home for these
occasions.
Taking part in the program
will be Mesdames David Berk-
man, Marvin Cohen, Milton Ga-
vant, Jack Ilirsch, Morris Janko,
Hy Landsman, Sidney Rich,
Edward Sternberg and Mrs. Sey
mour Zimmerman.
Lunch, under the chairman-
manship of Mrs. Mike Beckman,
will be served at $1.50 per mem
ber.
Door prizes will be awarded.
Temple Youth Plan
Parent-Teen Forum
On Sunday, Nov. 15, at 7:30 p.
m. at the A. J. C. C., the Temple
Youth Group is planning a par
ent-teenage forum. Subject will
be the problems facing parents
and teenagers today.
There will be a panel of par
ents and teenagers to discuss
specific problems and then the
subject will be opened to the
group as a whole.
All parents of Youth Groupers
are invited to attend as this will
be an enlightening program for
parents as well as teenagers.

Mayor Stamps Friday
“JWV Auxiliary Day”
Friday, Nov. IS, has been offi
cially declared “Ladles Auxiliary
of the Jewish War Veterans,
Post No. 112, Day” in Atlanta.
The destination came in a
proclamation issued by Mayor
William B. llartsfield, who called
upon “all citizens to familiarize
themselves with and to support
the activities of this organiza
tion.”
Mrs. Mary Klein, Auxiliary
president, pointed out that mem
bers are devoted to serving citi
zens regardless of race, color or
creed through projects for war
veterans and servicemen, be
sdes numerous civic movements.
Temple Couples Club
Country Fair Nov. 14
On Saturday November 14, the
Temple Couples Club will hold
a “Country Fair” at the Jewish
Community Center. Festivities
will commence at 8:30 with
games, square dancing, sack
races and many other fun-filled
