Helps Plan Brandeis Uni. Anniversary

recently named as the only Atlanta member of the Brandeis Uni
versity President’s (^ouncil, joins Brandeis Fellows, Ben J. Massell
(left) and Louis Aronstam, in spearheading plans for the univer
sity’s Eleventh Anniversary Dinner, to be held Sunday, November
29 at the Standard Club.
Formally established last May as an integral component of the
university’s structure, the President’s Council is a national leader
ship body serving as advisors and consultants in the development
of the Waltham University. Its members represent the university
at formal academic convocations, and assist its Offices of Admis
sions and Public Affairs.
Other leaders in Atlanta Jewry assisting in the dinner plans
are: Harry I. Davis, Dr. Marvin C. Goldstein, Albert E. Mayer, Sol
Levin, Louis Rittenbaum and Dr. Joseph Yampolsky.

Jewish Home Sets
Eighth Open House
The eighth annual Open House
at the Jewish Home will be held
on Sunday, Nov. 22, from 2 to 5
p.m it was announced by Abe
Goldstein, president. At the last
meeting of the Joint Committee
on Volunteer Services, chaired by
Mrs. Belle Rosenfeld, following
chairmen were appointed: sales,
Mrs. Mendle Boorstin; hostesses,
Mrs. Irving Levy; refreshments,
Mrs. Jack Weinstock; floral ar
rangements, Mrs. Jake Butler.
Tne Open House is looked for
ward to with real anticipation by
the residents because this is the
time when the articles which
they make during the year in
the hobby shop are put on sale.
This year, in addition to over 200
aprons of different varieties,
there will be two types of dolls,
the Southern Belles and the Yo-
Yo dolls. Other items include
place mats, pot holders, embroi
dered towels, baby clothes and a
number of hand-hooked rugs.
