Fall Activities—
Staff Assignments
Members may enroll in a
varied program of cultural, edu
cational and physical education
activities which offer unlimited
opportunity to develop new in
terests and make new friends
through creative and attractive
use of leisure hours.
Highlighting the start of fall
activities is the “Sun-Fun” pro
gram for children in the 1st
through 4th grades. This pro
gram will provide children the
opportunity to participate in
sports, athletics,* swimming,
crafts, trips, hikes and drama
tics.
In addition, the children’s pro
gram includes Ballet Dane' 1
Classes, Creative Modern Dance
Classes, Cooking, Ceramics, Arts,

ment of new program staff
Alvin Walter has assumed the
position of Children’s Activities
Director Alvin is a recent grad
uate of the University of Tenne
ssee School of Social Work. Al
vin’s graduate training was made
possible through a scholarship
grant made by the Metropolitan
Atlanta Community Services.
Victor Copeland, a graduate of
Tulane School of Social Work,
will be assuming the professional
responsibility for the Youth Ac
tivities Department which in
cludes programs for the Tween
and Teen age youngsters.
William Gris, a graduate of
Yeshiva University School of
Social Work, will be responsible
for the programming of the
Adult Activities Department
Bill will include in his program
ming activities for young adults,
college students, single adults
and older adults.
Art Department
The Atlanta Jewish Commun
ity Center has announced the
formation of an Art Department
for children and adults. Purpose
is to give AJCC members oppor
tunities for creative and artistic
expression.
The curriculum of the Art De
partment presently includes
classes for children in art, cera
mics, woodworking and sewing.
Courses in art for adults includes
both afternoon and evening
classes and workshop sessions.
All adults, regardless of previ
ous training, are eligible for
these classes and workshops. The
Art Department intends to ex
pand its courses as the need
arises.
The staff includes Miss Polly
Marson, instructor in Art; Mrs.
Ruth Seibert, instructor in cera
mics; Mrs. Esther Goldman, sew
ing instructor; and Mr. Keggie
Ginburg, woodworking instruc
tor. The Art Department is
supervised by Mr. William Gris
and Mr. AJvip falter, fulltime
professionals of the Center staff.
