Mr. and Mrs. Leo Richards of
Atlanta are planning an early
trip to Miami.
Joseph Gross, Atlanta, ad
dressed the Bible Study Group
of the Wieuca Road Baptist
Church recently. He spoke on
the “Role of the Patriarchs in
Jewish Life.”

Girls Basketball
Dance at AJCC
Saturday, Dec. 23, at 7:30 p.m.
the AJCC gymnasium will be
the site of a reunion of the AJCC
1960 Girl’s League Championship
team. This team who represented
DBB-BBG last year, composed
of Iris Ruskin, Ina Shuman, Re
nee Alhadeff, Joanie Taratoot,
Baily Ann Smith, and other out
standing players. Their opposi
tion will be made up of players
in the current AJCC Girl’s
League.
Some of the players on this
team will be Elaine Maziar,
Sherry Segan, Gay Singer, Bar
bara Schecter, Elissa Shavin and
Francine Shonson. Every team
in the league will be represented.
Immediately following the game
all teenagers are invited to a
dance in the AJCCs Teen
Lounge. There is no admission
for either event.
Drama Dance Group
To Perform at Grady
The Civic Drama Dance Work
shop, directed by Ida Sloane
Borochoff, will present an origi
nal version of “The Eight Little
Candles” and the “The Night
Before Christmas” to the chil
dren at Grady Hospital on Fri
day, Dec. 22.
The Atlanta Section, Council of
Jewish Women, will give a paity
for these children.
Appearing on the program
will be Jean Borochoff, Diane
Glem, Maria Rottereman, Ann
Farnsworth, Mary Joe Neal,
Beverly Worksman, Leslie Gold
stein, Adrian Leven, Sheryll
Nerembaum, Les Jacobs, Judy
Jacobs.
The Workshop goal is to pre
sent programs, free, for chari
ties, benefits and the lonely, with
a guests cast performing drama,
tap, ballet, folk dancing and sing
ing.
Southern BBYO
Set for Asheville
Approximately 100 Jewish
high school youths representing
B’nai B’rith youth chapters in
Atlanta will attend the annual
Southern Region B’nai B’rith
Youth Organization convention
December 27-41 In Asheville,
N.C., it was announced by Ben
Rabinowitz, chairman of the At
lanta BBYO committee. They
will join another 200 youth from
North and South Carolina.
Congressman Roy A. Taylor,
Democratic representative of the
12th North Carolina Congression
al District, will be kick-off
speaker, it was announced by
Bernard Spector, Atlanta, who
is chairman for the Southern re
gion B’nai B’rith Committee,
sponsor for the four day event.
Representative Taylor will
focus his talk on the recent re
marks made by President John
F Kennedy to the citizens of
this nation. These were:
“Every new piece of informa
tion, every fresh event have
deepened my conviction that the
survival of our civilization is at
stake—and the hour is late.
Ask not what your country
can do for you, but rather what
you can do for your country.
“The great enemy is our un
willingness to do what must be
done.”
Dr. Leon H. Feldman, Ashe
ville, an officer of the B’nai
B’rith District Grand Lodge No.
5, will also address the conven
tion body.
The youth will be convened
by their respective presidents,
Ronald Addlestone, a freshman
at Charleston College, Charles
ton, and Renee Michael, a sen
ior high school student in At
lanta.
