tional Auschwitz Committee ap
pealed this week to rectors of Uni
versities in Austria to speak out
against anti-Semitic activities
conducted by student members of
neo-Nazi organizations. The Com
mittee said that the horrors of
Hitlerism made it the duty of the
rectors to warn against the great
danger “which any form of fas
cism and anti-Semitism repres
ents.”

GUATEMALA (JTA)—Twentv-
four persons were initiated this
week at the founding meeting of
a B’nai B’rith lodge here named
for the late Jorge Garcia Gran
ados, who as ambassador to the
United Nations in 1948 fought vig
orously for the UN partition res
olution for Palestine.
CASABLANCA (JTA)— Grand
Rabbi Danan, president of the Su
preme Rabbinical Tribunal of
Morocco, accompanied by mem
bers of the Jewish Committee of
Rabat, conveyed to King Hassan
II this week the unswerving loy
alty of Moroccan Jewry to the
throne. The King received the
Jewish delegation in connection
with the anniversary of his ac
cession to the throne after the
death of his father, Mohammed
V.

JOHANNESBURG (JTA)— An
agreement has been reached be
tween ORT and Amal, the His-
tadrut vocational school center,
for the establishment of a techni
cal school in the Nazareth area to
provide vocational training for
both Arab and Jews in the area,
the two top officials of ORT re
ported here The announceipent
was made by Profesaor Willi,on
Haber, president of the World
ORT Union, and Dr. Max Braude,
its director general, who came
here from Israel.
Dallas to Welcome
Refugees—Mostly Cubans
DALLAS (JTA)— The Jewish
Family Service of Dallas will
take in and care for twenty ref
ugee Jewish families, most of
them from Cuba, instead of the
quota of ten previously an
nounced.
Leon Rosenberg, president of the
welfare agency, said the larger
quota had been indicated as nec
essary by the United Hias Serv
ice. In addition to the Cuban fam
ilies, among the 20 coming to Dal
las are some from other trouble
spots, including Egypt.

To Aid Resettement
Of Cuba Refugees
PITTSBURGH (JTA) — The
Jewish Family and Children’s
Service, here, has undertaken to
help resettle 21 Jewish refugee
families from Cuba in this city,
during the 1961-62 period, it was
announced here by Jack I,. Ros
enberg, president of the agency.
The resettlement project is
carried on with the help of United
HIAS Service. The 21 families of
Cuban refugees — who have left
their country not because of anti-
Semitism but due to the changed
economic situation in that coun
try—are expected to total about
84 persons, Mr. Rosenberg said.

of the Jewish Home for the Aged
will be more than doubled, in-
cr. easing from a maximum of 105
beds to 225, as a result of new
construction being planned by the
Home, it was announced here.

NEW YORK (JTA) The Fam
ily Location Service, an agency
affilited with the Federation of
Jewish Philanthropies, gave direct
service to 1,446 cases during 1961,
' more than 91 percent of the cases
originating in this city, accord
ing to the annual report of the
organization issued here by Wal
ter H. Liebman, president.
HARTFORD (JTA)—The board
of directors of Mount Sinai Hos
pital of Hartford approved plans
this week to double the size of
the hosptal
WASHINGTON (JTA)—A 10-
week course for parents of re
tarded children is underway at
the Home for Retarded Children
which is sponsored by the Jewish
Foundation for such children.
The course is sponsored by the
College of General Studies of
George Washington University.
The lectures deal with the various
implications of a retarded child
for his family.
