It is much too early to evaluate the
definitive place of Ben Massed in the history
of Atlanta, in the area of his Jewish identification
in which he chose to deploy the fruits of
his labors for the benefit of men and women
in need, or in the permanent place his career
will occupy in business and industrial circles.
But the time had come, The Southern Israelite
felt, for presentation of as much about him as
could be secured under “one roof” so to speak,
where comprehensively the record could be
viewed in “Perspective,” and somewhat
collectively. Hence this edition devoted entirely to him.
This publication was one of his fields of
interest and he was cognizant of the place of
a community-type periodical of this nature—both
weekly newspaper and magazine supplement—
The Southern Israelite was privileged to count him
among its public-spirited stockholders and to have
him on our Advisory Board.
Entered as second-clast matter at the
post office at Atlanta, Ga., under the act
of March 3, 107*. Published weekly by
the Southern Newspaper Enterprises,
