Nicolo Marionetts Are
Coming to Town April 14
Remember this date! April 14—
and the place — Atlanta Jewish
Community Center. The time —
1:30 and 3 p. m. Why? Because
the Nicolo Marionettes, formerly
the Suzari Marionettes are
coming back to town! The Mar
ionettes will perform in an ex
citing production of Lewis Car-
oil’s classic “Alice in Wonder
land.”
Never before has “Wonder
land” been so joyously portray
ed on the stage as it is in Nicolo’s
bright, new, modern adaptation
of the charming fantasy.
Audiences will thrill and howl
with laughter as Alice, played by
a marionette when she’s small
and by a live girl when she is
big, sings and dances with her
marionette friends. Together they
participate in famous “Wonder
land” events as the Mad-Tea
Party, the U-Birthday Ball and
the Mock Trail. The White Rab
bit, the Smoking Caterpillar and
the Mysterious Disappearing
Cheshire Cat, help Alice search
for the stolen tarts. The problem
is—will she find them in time to
escape the wrath of the sinister
Queen of Hearts?
All of this takes place on a
marionette stage, in breath-tak
ing beautiful stage settings by a
Broadway designer. It is accom
panied by scintillating original
music that will keep the children
humming long after the final cur
tain has fallen.
Tickets are now on sale at the
AJCC office. Admission is 50
cents.
The Center presents the Nicolo
Troupe in hope of bringing high
quality theater for children to
Atlanta.
