Hebrew Institute Announces
Plans lor 1963-64 Season
The Hebrew Institute of At
lanta (afternoon Hebrew school)
has completed its preparations
for the coming school year.
“Its interesting plans are in
deed exciting, President Milton
Krebs announced. “They will
contribute greatly to the benefit
of the school and students.
“The Hebrew Institute has
completed its staff for all classes,
including extra-curricular activ
ities, such as: Bar Mitzvah
groups, dramatics, reading clubs,
etc. The members of the staff
have a large Jewish and general
background; they are licensed
teachers, fully qualified and ex
perienced.
“The entire school building at
1140 University Drive, N. E., is
being refurbished and redecorat
ed. New classrooms and new fa
cilities are being added.
“Again this year the Hebrew
Institute has three new classes
for beginners. One for the ‘young’
— the seven-year-old boys and
girls, and two for eight-year-old
boys and girls. The Institute en
courages the beginning of Jewish
studies at the age of seven in
order to enable the child to ob
tain a more intensive Jewish Ed
ucation.
Since there are parallel classes
in all grades, it is possible to
divide children so that each can
work more effectively on his or
her own level and, therefore,
make better progress, the Insti
tute official pointed out.
“The children cover a well-
planned, comprehensive course of

Jewish studies,” according to the
Institute officials, “These studies
contribute to the development of
a wholesome and better-harmon
ized personality in the Jewish
child. The time element, the
learning capacity, and the psy
chological element are all taken
into consideration. The Institute
stresses conversational Hebrew.
“Transportation is available to
most areas of the city: Northeast,
Northwest, Lindberg-Morosgo, N
Druid Hills, etc. Transportation
is provided by the Atlanta Bu
reau of Jewish Education.
“Parents desiring to enroll
their children in the Hebrew In
stitute (or interested in obtain
ing additional information )
should call TR 6-8043. This
should be done immediately, par
ticularly if transportation to the
school is requested (the Bureau
of Jewish Education administers
the transportation program, and
to properly coordinate this pro
gram, it needs this information
immediately).”

Ding Ho Provides Sentimental
Setting for Pre-Nuptial Dinner
When the Dwoskins planned
the decor of Ding Ho Restaurant
in downtown Atlanta, the prob-
abl never dreamed it would
someday furnish the background
for a party honoring the nuptials
of a member of their family.
The large, hand-embroidered
wall decorations formed the base
of the background for a dinner
party given last week by seven
couples in honor of the August 4
wedding of Diane Dwoskin,
daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry
Dwoskin, and Marvin Bernstein,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Bern
stein of New York City.
Special guests of honor were
members of the family and
friends from out-of-town.
The Ding Ho dining room was
literally transformed into a Chi
nese garden and special manda
rin costumes were worn by the
hosts and hostesses — Mr. and
Mrs. Paul Dwoskin of Atlanta
and Mr. and Mrs. Richard Feld
man of West Palm Beach, bro
ther and sisters of the bride-to-
be, Mr. and Mrs. Leonard Hei-
man, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Kurtz-
man, Mr. and Mrs. Tom Rosing
and Mr. and Mrs. Alan Rosen
berg, all of Atlanta.
The special savory menu ar
ranged by Ding Ho-Hong Kong
President Tom Wong and his
Cantonese chefs included:
Gai Wonton Mein Tong, Choon
Gong, Siew Pai Gwut, Bar Pan,
liar Loong Won, Ngow Yuke
Choy, Goo Low Yuke, Chow
Gai Pan, Sai Fon, Chow Fon
with imported “Oolong Tea and
Jasmine Tea” and oriental des
sert.
—And for any uninformed gou-
mets-to-be readers who may
wonder for instance what “Chow
Gai Pan, Sai Fon” is. President
Wong described it as “tender
pieces of boneless chicken with
snow beans, bock choy, bamboo
shoots covered with rice noodles.”
