When you become a Cub Scout,
you are no longer just a boy.
Now you are a member of a Pack
and a Den. A Cub Scout puts
thoughts of himself in the back
ground as he busily contributes
to the activities of his troop and
thinks of his fellow Scout.
A Cub Scout learns from other
people and to work with others.
That’s the fun of Cub Scouting!
All boys between the ages of
8 and 11 who are interested in
joining the Cub Scouts (plus
former members) are urged to
attend the first organizational
meeting at the Center—Monday,
September 16, at 8:00 p. m. Par
ents are required to attend this
first meeting.
Explorer Scouts
We are, along with parents,
making It possible for young men
to participate in a program des
igned to meet their needs and in

14 and 18 are invited to come to
the Center September 10, at 8:00
p. m., to hear Mr. Joe Davenport
of the Atlanta Area Scouting
Council explain the importance
and working of an Explorer Scout
Unit.

The delightful swimming party
sponsored by the “Just In Fun”

a success in terms of fun and
frolic.
The highlight of the party was
a keep-away ball game played in
the pool — men versus women.
The men won!
The hot dogs were delicious;
tape-recorded music flowed
across the pool to create special
atmosphere.
The picnic will be long-re

pictures to take home and share
with their families; they built
with blocks; climbed to dizzy
heights on the jungle gym.
This week is a beginning which
