Irving Silver
Wins National
Rambler Prize
Irving Silver, salesman at Lander
Rambler, has been awarded a new
Rambler Sports Typhoon two-door
hardtop in a na
tional sales con
test conducted by
American Motors,
according to John
H. Lander, presi
dent of Atlanta’s
downtown Ram-
brer dealership.
Mr. Silver, who
has been with
Lander for 10
years and is a member of American
Motors’ Sales Honor Club, was one
of only two people in the country
to win the new-model Rambler auto
mobiles during the first week of the
contest. Another Lander Rambler
salesman, Chris Murdock, was the
winner of a lesser prize.
“The Rambler Sports Typhoon is
an entirely new model which we
are adding to our Classic line,” Mr.
Kosher Meat Operator
Has Recommendation
Of Syracuse Rabbi
Jonah Katz, who has recently
taken over the former Danneman’s
Kosher Meat Market on Highland
Avenue, comes to Atlanta with the
recommendation of Rabbi Jacob H.
Epstein of Syracuse, N. Y.
Mr. Katz was prominent in Syra
cuse Kashruth circles for several
years before his decision to come
to Atlanta and develop a muchly
needed kosher meat market.
A letter from Rabbi Epstein notes:
“Mr. Joseph Katz has been a kosh
er butcher in Syracuse for many
years. He operated his own kosher
meat market and was under the
strict supervision of the Vaad Hak-
ashrut of the Orthodox Council of
Syracuse.
“Mr. Katz has always been most
«)operative with the rabbis and
sehoctim in pronding kosher meat
and meat products for the Jewish
community. He is a man of integrity
and religious conviction.
“As a member of our Jewish com
munity, Mr. Katz, his wife and chil
dren have endeared themselves to
all.
“We sincerely regret that he is
leaving our city and hope that he
will be received warmly by the
new community where he will chose
to reside ...”
Lander said. “It will be on display
in our showroom later this month,
at which time we invite every motor
ist in Atlanta to come see what
Rambler has done with this limited-
edition model.”
