Carol Cohen, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Gerald Cohen, and Richard
Pressman, son of Mr. and Mrs.
J. L. Pressman, have been selected
as cahirmen.
Carol, a Junior at Northside High,
is active in the Beta Club and the
National Honor Society. A member
of Ahavath Achim Congregation,
she is secretary of the Sunday School
Student Council and a member of
B’nai B’rith Girls. A member of
JOJ Chapter, she Is a past Southern
Region BBG president and currently
vice president of District 5 BBG.
She was a sweetheart of AEPi fra
ternity at Georgia Tech.

The Womens Branch 207B of the
Workmen’s Circle will celebrate its
36th anniversary this same evening.
For many years Branch 207B
has been active in supporting Jew
ish orphans overseas. Hunks to
their many contributions they were
able to have an active share in the
building of the Southern District
Workmen’s Circle Children’s Health
Center in Israel.
The evening will feature a ban
quet, greetings from many out-of-
town Branches and a performance
by the renowned Yiddish actor
Michel Gibson.

the speaker at the

the Augusta Fed
eration of Jewish
Char kies. The
Federation’s goal
this year is $42,-
000, a 30 per cent
increase over pre
vious years.
Maurice Stein
berg, chairman of the drive, said,
“The money we raised in the la^
campaign helped three Jewish fam
ilies come into Israel and sustained
them for one year. Hus year we
hope to raise enough money to add
one more family.”
Steinberg named the following
federation leaders who will help in
the campaign: Michael Cohen, co-
chairman; Dr. Morton Wittenberg,
vicechairman; Malcolm Bstroff,
chairman of the Young Men’s
Group; David Silver, Initial Gifts
chairman; Jake Isenberg. Merchants
Gifts duirman; Dr. Herman Peakin
and Dr. Ira Goldberg, Medical Di
vision chairmen. Steinberg will head
the Lawyers Division of the drive.

director.

He is president of the Temple Youth
Group and a member of the TYG
basketball team.
This division represents high
school youth of the community and
includes the membership of the fol

Youth Organization (BBYO), Temple
Youth Group, Center Youth Organi
zation, Young Judea and Young
Judea B’nai Akiva.
