Mayfair Club Stockholders Vote
To Disband. Distribute Assets

Installation
Hie Temple Sisterhood will hold
its installation of 1964-65 officers at
a luncheon on Monday, May 11, at
12:15 p. m.
Mrs. Fred Beerman has been nom
inated as president. Other nominees

old Hoizer Jr., Mrs. Arnold Gold
berg and Mrs Eli Reich, vice pres

Dinner Meeting
Set for May 9
The Temple Couples Club will hold
a dinner meeting at 8 p. m. Satur
day, May 9, in the Temple’s Friend
ship Hall.
Tennessee Williams’ play, “27
Wagons of Cotton,” will be presented
by Sen Productions, Hideaway Play
house, following the dinner and in
stallation of officers. Featured in
the performance will be Martha
Ashton, Stuart Culpepper and Bob
Johnson.
Officers for 1964-65 are Mr. and
Mrs. Eugene Asher, presidents; Mr.
and Mrs. Howard Herman, cultural
vice presidents; Mr. and Mrs. Her
bert Woll, social vice presidents;
Mr. and Mrs. Robert Begner, sec
retaries; and Mr. and Mrs. Jack
TafTel, treasurers.
Rubin Silverstein has been nom
inated as Couples Club represents

Pharmacy, was elected president of
the Fifth District Pharmaceutical
Association at is
annual meeting in
April.

At the state PTA
convention held in
Savannah recently, Mr. Cohen was
named state chairman of the citi
zenship committee. He has served
the PTA on the local level for a
number of years, having served
three terms as president of the
Rock Springs PTA.
He has operated Jack’s Pharmacy
on Piedmont Avenue at Rock Springs

Jack Berthenko, Atlanta business
man and Jewish oommu’-al leader,
has been named the recipient of the
1964 President’s Award of the Union
of Orthodox Jewish Congregations of
America.
A coined medallion was presented
to Mr. Berchenko May 3 at Lhe
union's national dinner in New York
City before about 1,000 leaders of
traditional Judaism.

leaders on the basis of their serv
ice to congregations and commun
ities.
