Max and Harriet Schlacfater are
off to the north. Jubilant and hap
py. Max just celebrated another
birthday and he’s delighted with
the thoug* at being with his loved
ones over the simmer months.
Jennie Tinkle will return to Albany
next week for the summer, coming
back to the sunshine (Sty in No
vember. Pauline Zirinsky will re
main north for the summer.

Julius Maza coming along wonder
fully well after surgery and happy
over his progress. Joan Kochman
is out of Mound Park Hospital af
ter surgery, and is back home at
6115 76th Avenue North. Friends
wishing to visit can do so and
Joan will be happy to see them.
She is doing splendidly and grow
ing stronger each day.
Bertha Ascher is out of Mound
Park Hospital after a thorough go
ing over, but will remain under the
medical guidance of her attending
physician. Joe Brenner is coming
along wonderfully well and making
progress and the same can be said
of Clarice Kraus. Lillian Zatlin is
ill at home and under the care of
ho- physician.
Sam and Belle Mazier leave for
the north May 15, to attend the
wedding of their granddaughter,
Marcia Grornet, to Elliott Kaplan
of Miami Beach, Florida. The wed
ding will take place May 30, at the
Colonnade Hotel, Rockville Center,
N.Y. The Mailers will remain for
an indefinite period in the north
and while there will see the sights
and take in the World’s Fair.
Julius Kahn left this week for
Newark, N.J., where be will spend
the summer.
SF dub members will meet at
the new Jewish Community Center
Open House Celebration on Sunday,
May 34, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. It
will be a casual gathering with
games, music and refreshments
and will give those who have not
visited the building, the opportunity
to look it over.
On Monday, May 35, all couples,
members of the SF dub, married
fifty years and over, will be given
a special Golden Circle Recognition.
Fifteen couples who have been
married from 50 to 60 years are
scheduled to sit at the special table
of honor and a very extraordinary
program has been arranged for
them. Among those bring honored
are, Selig and Ida Bush, 60 years;
Israel and Alta Cutler, 55 years;
Meyer and Lena Emsig, 53 years;
Samuel and Ray Epstein, 56 years;
Sol and Rebecca Elsenberg, 60
years; Ike and Ella Fleischer, 55

Sunday Bible School
Congregation Beth Israel's Sunday
School held its annual Mothers Day
Program and Ckring Exercises on
Sunday, May 10. Recipient of the
‘‘Jacob Hyman Memorial Award’’ to
the outstanding school’s pupil was
presented to Joe Wemtraub. The
second Award was presented to
Stanley C. Haknes. These presenta
tions were made by Mrs. Milton
Hyman and Mrs. Dora Hyman
Fifty-two students received various
citations for perfect attendance, dil
igent study, etc. The story of Sha-
vouth was presented by the Pre-
Oonfirmation dass. All mothers and
&ancknothere received a beautiful
rose. Refreshments were served by
the Sisterhood.
