TWEENS ON WHEELS
PLAN EUN-EILLEI) SUMMER!
TWEENS PI-AN PICNIC AND SWIM
The first Tuesday evening Tween outing is planned for June 16th. It
will be a swim party and picnic at Zaban Park
All tweens who are interested in an after noon of swimming, singing,
picnicing, and entertainment meet at the Center at 3:30. A bus will take
the group to Zaban Park and will return to the Center at 7: .‘iO.
Tweens should bring a picnic dinner and 80c for drinks and bus fare.
If you plan to come on this outing please call the Center at TR. 5-
7881 for registration.
TWEEN’S JUNIOR LIFESAVING COURSE
Starting the week of June 22, a course in Junior Lifesaving is being
taught by John Haley at the Center pool
Attention all tweens entering 7th, 8th, and 9th grades! A summer full
of interesting trips, social events, and classes is open to you at the Center.
The Tweens on Wheels will meet every Tuesday evening from June
16th through August 4th to enjoy such activities as a swim party and
picnic at Zaban Park, ice skating and bowling parties, an evening at
Chastain Park for Theatre Under the Stars, Putt Putt Golf, an Atlanta
Crackers Ball Game and a trip to Funtown.
Along with the Tuesday evening outings there are teenis, golf, art,
and life saving classes and a softball league offered specially for tweens.
Two all day trips are tentively planned . one to Ida Cassin Calloway
Gardens, the other to Lookout Mountain.
There is no registration for the entire program hut watch this page
for announcements of upcoming activities.
We’re looking forward to seeing lots of tweens with us again this
summer. For further information call Lois Lubin Frank at the Center.
GOLF LESSONS FOR TWEENS
A small golf class with personal supervision is being offered to the
(weens on Thursday afternoons from 2 until 4, starting June 18.
Bill Carter will instruct the classes—teaching various skills and taking
the group out on the course to play.
Registration is $5.00 for eight lessons.
PING-PONG TOURNAMENT SLATED AMONG TWEENS
A ping pong tournament is being scheduled lo extend throughout the
summer among all interested tweens (boys and girls).
A roster will be posted in the game room for the names of all tweens
who wish to participate in the tournament.
The deadline for signing up will be Wednesday, June 17.

'Itic Camp Barney Medintz Committee and staff will host an Open
House Sunday, June 14, 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. An invitation is extended
to the total Atlanta Jewish Community to visit and tour the camp
The Camp Staff and Committee will be on hand to tour camp and ans
wer questions. Families are encouraged to bring their lunch. Camp will
provide soft drinks
Due to the expected large turnout, swimming and other camp program
areas will not be open
This day will provide an opportunity for families to see the setting in
which the 512 campers registered this year will spend their summer.
The community and families who have contributed to the construction
of the camp can view many of the memorial and honorial plaques designat
ing their contributions.
The committee and staff are looking forward to hosting this first Open
House at Camp Barney Medintz.
