Bond Official's Son
Overcomes Odds to
Win Health, Election
This week in Belhesda, Maryland,
Jamie Lubarr, son of Israel Bond
Supervisor Sydney Lubarr, was
elected by the student council to be
president of New Kensington Junior
High School.
But the brief announcement does
not indicate the odds against such
an achievement by the plucky
youngster.
Two years ago Jamie spent twelve
hours on an operating table in a
desperate effort to save his life.
The after effects of Jamie’s illness
were not easily overcome, but the
boy does not list the word “quit”
in his vocabulary.
With grit and determination he
fought his way back so successfully
that now he has earned one of the
highest honors a school can bestow
upon a student.
Mr. Lubarr will be in Atlanta next
week in behalf of the Massed Mem
orial Award Dinner.

Acquires Franchise
For "Lafayette''
Georgia Electronics Inc., a newly-
formed Georgia Corp., has recently
announced the acquisition of the La
fayette Radio Electronics franchise
for the Atlanta area.
Lafayette, no stranger to Atlanta,
will now have in Atlanta a fully
equipped and modern sales outlet
for all of its many varieties of
electronic equipment and compon
ents.
Among the many new and unusual
features of this store will be the
availability of the complete Lafay
ette catalog items through a mail
order plan. This plan allows cus
tomers to purchase any catalog item
that may not be immediately avail
able in the Atlanta warehouse stocks,
by placing their mail orders with
the store. These orders will then be
immediately processed and rapidly
shipjKsd to the customers on a pre
paid freight basis at current cata
log prices. In addition, all equip
ment purchased at or through the
Atlanta store, will carry a 90 day
free service guarantee that will be
handled exclusively in Atlanta by
Georgia Electronics Ino. personnel.
These features plus many others
should make the new Atlanta La
fayette Associate Store even more
appealing to its customers than the
highly successful Atlanta Lafayette
Store of some years past.
Frank Hart, well km ran to many
Atlanta “Hams” ami “Citizen Band
Operators” alike, will head the sales
force of the main store located at

In a related development, Karl
Gunther von Base, the Government
press secretary, reiterated that the
Government intended to “find a so

of West German scientists in Egypt.
He said the solution could not in

West Germaas and appealed to “the
countries and governments involved”
to “show understanding” about the
problem.
In Dusseldori, the Trade Union
Movement appealed to Chancellor
I ad wig Erhard to take immediate
action to end those activities, which
the movement said was threatening
Middle East peace. In a letter to
the Chancellor, the 6,000,000-member
movement said “we consider it the
self-evident duty of the German peo
ple to help the Jewish people, who
have suffered so much in the past,
to maintain its freedom” and called
on the Chancellor “to intervene in an
effective and practical way” in the
problem.
