Mrs. Milton Crane and daughter,
Melissa, attended the Harvard Uni
versity graduation exercises Thurs
day, June 11. Among the graduates
was Mrs. Crane’s 71-year-old mo
ther, Mrs. A. L. Postman, who re
ceived a degree in history. For
many years Mrs. Postman used her
free time to take evening extension
courses, always working toward the
day when she would receive her
degree.

On June 21
Congregation Betti El will bold its
installation dinner on Sunday, June
21, at 6:30 p. m. ait the Progressive
Club.
The following is the slate of Con
gregation officers to be voted on
and installed: Morris Ringel, presi
dent; Melvin Pazol, vice president
for religion; David Fink, treasurer;
Mrs. Fred Eisentx-rg and Irving
Rosenblum, secretaries; and Barney
Schoenberg, Gabbai.
The Sisterhood slate of officers to
be installed includes Mrs. Ben Loew-
msohn, president; Mrs. Melvin Silon,
Mrs. Gerald Adelman, Mrs. Irving
Rosenblum, and Mrs. Henry Birn-
brey, vice presidents; Mrs. Arnold
Melvin, treasurer; Mrs. Fred Eisen-
berg, Mrs. Leonard Schwartz and
Mrs. Max Trebits. secretaries.
BBG 176 Banquet
B’nai B’rith Girls Chapter 176 held
its banquet May 30 at the University
Room in the Howell House. The
theme of the banquet was "A Sum
mer Place.” The main events of
the evening were the presentation
of awards, the announcement of su
perlatives, the honoring of the coach
and the distribution of the news-
newspaper.
Pat Beckman was awarded “Best
All Around,“ 'Most Leadership"
was given to Janet Rechtman and
“Best Sportsmanship” to Barbara
Shuman. The entertainment was pro
vided by the Salients band.

nual installation at a parent-daugh
ter tea, Monday, June 1, at the
A ICC.
New officers installed for the
year 1964-65 were Janet Smith, pres
ident; Elissa Shavin and Barbara
Libowsky, vice presidents; Claire
Brown, Adele Caplan, and Sherry
Solomon, secretaries; Janet Krug-
rnan, treasurer; Cheryl Aronstam,
historian; Honey Cleln, editor; Di
ane Stein, chaplain; Gary Ronin,
beau.
JOJ ended their year with a trip
to Ida Ca9on Gardens on June 3-5.

At the recent Hebrew School grad
uation exercises held at the Or Ve
Shalom Synagogue, the following two
boys were awarded scholarships to
the Hebrew High School, Leonard
Franco, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charlie
Franco, and Robert ILazen, son of
Mr. and Mrs. Herman Hazen. Cor-
inne Capelouto, daughter of Mr. and
Mrs. Isaac Capelouto was awarded
the Blue Star Camp Scholarship.

B’nai Mitzvah
The B’nai Mitzvah of Richard
Astor and Robert Michael Rubin
will l>e observed Saturday, June 13,
at 9:00 a. m. at Ahavath Achim
Synagogue.
Richard is the son of Mr. and Mrs.
Benjamin Astor. Robert is the son
of Mrs. Louise Rubin and Dr. Milton
Rubin of Birmingham.
A Kiddush honoring the boys will
follow the services.
