New Concept In Merchandise
Theme at New N. DeKalb Center
New concepts in merchandising
await Southern Israelite readers
in the North DeKalb Shopping
Center opening this week at the
intersection of the Lawrenceville
Highway and North Decatur
Road.
A glamorous list of fine stores
will establish branch offices in
the location with the complex
slated to become one of the city’s
most beautiful and most utilitar
ian shopping areas.
Fifty-three fine stores are con
tracting for establishments and
some are opening this week. It
takes several weeks for the com
plete group to activiate the new
branches.
Heading the group is Rich’s,
with a fantastic replica of its
main store, becoming probably
largest department store in De
Kalb County.
Promising “Red Carpet” serv
ice and shoes that fit, J&J Shoes
opened July 29 with a marvelous
display of the familiar trade
names they handle. This is the
11th store in the J&J store chain,
a firm ever growing with its in
creasing number of satisfied cus
tomers.
Manager Johnny Winge heads
the staff of four who will sell
the medium-priced merchandise
to the public.
J. C. Cutcliff and Ronald Cofer
are managers of the C&C Rexall
Drug Company. Carrying the fa
miliar and popular “Rexall” line
of drugs, the drug store at once
offers quality and reasonable
price.
Both Mr. Cofer and Mr. Cutcliff
are registered druggists and the
independently owned store will
offer free delivery, C&S Charge
Accounts and friendly service.
Mr. Cutcliff served as president
of the Merchant’s Association in
a major north Georgia shopping
center. He is a graduate of the
University of Georgia School of
Pharmacy.
Mr. Cofer graduated from Sou
thern College of Pharmacy. C&C
will offer complete drug, sundry
and cosmetic departments, with a
modem fountain featuring seat
ing capacity for 55. Hours are
9 a. m. to 9:30 p. m. Monday
through Saturday and 1 to 8 p. m.
Sunday.

p. m. in Shapiro Auditorium for

JWV Annual Cadillac
Night Set for Oct. 24
Commander Meyer J. Abgott
announced that the Second An
nual Cadillac Night sponsored by
the Atlanta Post No. 112 JWV is
scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 24,
at the Progressive Club.
At the same time it was an
nounced that A1 Schwartz will
act as general chairman and
Harry Harrison as co-chairman.
Last year’s successful Cadillac
Night featuring Jan Murray is
. bound to be surpassed this year,
