Mr. and Mrs. David E. Cohen
of Charleston announce the en
gagement of their daughter, Sandi
Jean Cohen, to Larry H. Taffel,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis L. Taf
fel of Atlanta.
Miss Cohen attended the Uni
versity of Miami. Mr. Taffel at
tended Johns Hopkins University
and graduated from Emory Uni
versity. He is presently in the
Coast Guard, stationed at Mi
ami Beach.
The wedding will take place
March 27 in Charleston.

Jill Kersh, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs. Oscar C. Kersh of At
lanta, became the bride of Dr.
Martin Weinberg, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Irving Weinberg of New
York City, Sept. 5 at the Pro
gressive Club. Rabbi Harry H.
Epstein officiated.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her father. Judy Wein
berg, sister of the bridegroom,
and Bonnie Kereh, sister of the
bride, were maids of honor. Mrs.
David Colin was her sister’s ma
tron of honor. Bridal attendants
v ere Karen Krugman, Nicky
Rosenfeld, and Susan Kersh.
Beth Colin was flower girl.
Mr. Weinberg was his son’s
best man Usher-groomsmen were
Charles Rosenfeld, Raymond Ro
senfeld, Donald Miller, Dr. Sam
uel Goodrich, and Dr. James
Webster of Fort Jackson.
The bride’s parents gave a
dinner and dance after the cere
mony. Mrs. Donald Miller kept
the bride’s book. Charlotte Novak
assisted at the reception.
After a wedding trip to Jamai
ca, the newlyweds will live in
Columbia, S. C.

Blumenteld, sister of the groom,

cousin of the bride, Barbara
Lobel and Helene Silverboard.
Vicky Blumenfeld, niece of the
groom, was the flower girl.
Dr. Alvin Blumenfeld, brother-
in-law of the groom, was best
man. The groomsmen were Joel
Epstein, brother of the bride,
Phil Cohen of New Orleans, uncle
of the bride, and Barry Blond-
heim of Columbus, and Louis
Mundy and Joel Lobel were the
ushers. Ringsbearer was Danny
Blumenfeld. nephew of the
groom.
The bride’s parents entertained
at a seated dinner in the Srochi
Hall of the Synagogue. Glenda
Cohn, cousin of the bride, Brenda
Fishman and Roslyn Krick kept
the bride’s book.
After a wedding trip to New
York the newlyweds are residing
in Atlanta

The opening meeting of Au
gusta Hadassah was held
Thursday, Sept. 16, at 8:30 p. m.
at the Augusta Town House. Mrs.
Phillip Kroskin of Norfolk, a
member of Hadassah’s National
Board was the scheduled speaker.
Mrs. M. K. Steinberg directed a
musical program.
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Cohen
invited relatives and friends to
attend the Bar Mitzvah of their
son, Henry Alan, Saturday, Sept
18, at Adas Yeshuron Synagogue.
A Kiddush and luncheon followed
the services.
Alice Singer, daughter of Mr.
and Mrs Sol Singer of Atlanta,
became the bride of Richard
Pinsky, son of Mr. and Mrs. Ben
jamin Piinsky of Akron, C^hio,
on August 15 at Ahavath Achim
Synagogue. Rabbi Harry H. Ep
stein officiated.
Miss Arleen Kruger of Fitzger
ald, cousin of the bride, accom
panied by Harry Robkin, gave
musical renditions before the cer
emony. The bride was given in
marriage by her father. Mrs. Neil
Jay Norry of Rochester, N. Y.,
was her sister’s matron of hon
