Pre-School Activities
NURSERY SCHOOL
Open to girls and boys — 3 and 4 years old
Meets: Mondays through Fridays — 9 A M. to 12
Noon. Sept, through May.
Information: Brochures and applications avail

Fee: $24.00 per month plus $2.00 annual Center insurance.
Staff: Teachers are college graduates or college educated with ex
perience or training in Nursery School education. Supervised by
department director.
Registration: Applications for Nursery School 1966-1967 acceptable
now. Waiting list only for 1965-66 season.
FUN DAY
Purpose: To provide supervised group experience including activities
in music, crafts, stories, dramatics. Snack provided.
Open to girls and boys 3 and 4 years old.
Meets: Wednesday afternoon 3-4:30 P.M. Fall term from Sept. 29
through Dec. 22 (except Oct. 6.) Winter term Jan. 5 - Mar. 9.
Spring term Mar. 16-May 18 (except April 6.)
Fee: $7.60 per term, plus Center insurance.
Staff: Supervised by Mrs. Ralph Sacks, director pre school depart
ment. Teachers: Mrs. Reuben Cohen, Mrs. Joe Blass, Mrs. Jacob
Robinson assisted by Miss Linda Feldman, Miss Arleen Gerson,
Miss Dinah Schwartz. Teachers are trained and experienced in
working with pre school age children. Assistants are high school
seniors selected for their ability to work with youngsters under
capable guidance and direction.
Registration: Limited number of children in each group.
SWIMMING
Purpose: To give preschooler an enjoyment of the water and to
teach him basic skills of swimming and water safety.
Open to boys and girls 3 and 4 years of age.
Meets: Monday 3:30-315; Tuesday 10-10:45; Thursday 10-10:45.

Swimming is the ideal exer
cise. During the lap swimming
time there will be NO FAMILY
SWIM. This time is for lap
swimmers only.
SCUBA DIVING COURSE be
ing offered again this fall. All
equipment will be furnished.
Fee for Scuba Diving is $10. We
must have 12 people enlisted to

Purpose: To provide an oppor
tunity for the entire family to
enjoy a relaxing dip together.
To continue a regular exercise
all year round and not just dur
ing the summer months. Swim
ming is the best exercise.

Purpose: To provide an oppor
tunity for the advanced swim
mers interested in learning skills
in competitive swimming. Con
tent: free style, back crawl,
butterfly, breast stroke, relaying
starts and turns.
SLIM GYM LADIES &
HEALTH CLUB LADIES
Tuesday and Thursday 10:45-12
Purpose: To provide an oppor
tunity for you to come and enjoy
a relaxing dip after a workout in
calisthenics.
Other activities that will be
going on in the pool this year
are: Basic canoeing, springboard
diving, water volleyball and
basketball, water safety instruc
tors and review course, jr. and sr.
life saving course.

WOMEN’S GOLF CLASSES
Fridays

Begins: Oct. 22
Fee: $13.00 for 6 lessons
Instructor: Hank Whitfield

An opportunity for women to
learn the basic fundamentals of
golf at their own rate of advance
ment. The instructor is a quali
fied golf pro at the Suburban
Golf course. If enough interest is
shown an AJCC golf league is in
the offering. Register now from
the times listed above that best
suits your needs.
INTERMEDIATE & SWIMMERS
Thursday — 3:30 4:15 P.M
Purpose: To provide the stu
dent with the opportunity to
learn the elements of good swim
ming. Also to increase students’
endurance and versatility in
water by providing opportunity
to coordinate the parts of a stroke
into whole strokes and learn ad
ditional strokes which will make
him an all round swimmer.
IMPROVE YOUR SWIM
Wednesday — 7:30-8:30 P.M.
Purpose: To provide the tweens
and teens an opportunity to im
prove their swimming skills, to
develop a regular exercise and
for those who haven't learn to
swim to take the sport up.
