DEBORAH—BBG
The members of Deborah BBG
came up with a different type of
social affair—a Progressive Din
ner Party. The meal began with
hors de’oeuvres at Hershene
Klein’s home, consisting of gef-
ilte fish balls, tomato juice, cel
ery strips, carrot sticks and dips.
Progressing to Judy Mizell’s,
the main course included fried
chicken, peas, baked potatoes and
rolls. The background of thirty-
one chattering girls gave the main
course the perfect atmosphere.
The party’s final stage was des
sert at Eileen Silver’s home.
Here pineapple upside down
cake, chocolate layer cake, orange
and lime sherbet served as an
excellent way to end a most en
joyable dinner.
Following the dinner songs
were sung to end the enjoyable
evening. —JUDY ISENBERG

Atlanta Jewish War Veterans
Post Endorses Viet Nam El fort
The following statement in
support of the United States pos
ition in Viet Nam has been issued
by Dr. Gerald Reed, chairman of
the Americanism Committee on
behalf of Atlanta Post 112, Jew
ish War Veterans.
“Atlanta Post 112 Jewish War
Veterans of the USA, strongly
supports our country’s actions in
defending South Viet Nam. We
oppose the demonstrations against
our Viet Nam policy and deeply
regret the effect they must have
on our soldiers fighting in the
field.
“Since President Johnson has
often repeated our country’s wil
lingness to negotiate a peaceful
resolution of the conflict, it would
seem that the demonstrations
should be aimed at North Viet
Nam and Red China, since they
have refused our offer of uncon
ditional negotiation.
“The presence of United States
forces in South Viet Nam rep-
resentsthe fulfillment of our com
mitment to defend that country
against attack. Were we to fail
to meet obligations of this nature,
it would surely weaken the con
fidence of free people all over
the world in our willingness and
ability to protect democracy.
“We must bear in mind that
liberty has its price. We are re
minded of this fact every time
our members visit ex-GI’s still
in VA hospitals.
“Cherishing freedom as we do,
we must be willing to defend it
wherever and whenever it is
threatened by the forces of totali
tarian aggression.”
