v. itli a dozen or so guys going
into orlnt with some of the high
est scoring of the season (and to
i.e perfectly trank, I hope their
retro-rockets malfunction who
needs these hig scores when I’m
breaking n\.v back to hold a 166

Top astronnt of the nite was
Numbers Aronin, who steered his
team into second place (they
wore in first place a couple weeks
ago the same guy steered them
out) with a record breaking (for
the nite) 225 game and 603 series

In second place was the fellow
wc thought we had lost to the
race track set (he runs the slot
car arena at Poncey and High
land, and if you take him a copy
of tins column plus a blank check
you can get three hours of fun)
anyway. Marsh (Hotrod) Neren-

guys have
choke . . .
this class
a few bad starts and ground out
a 22 b 5:3 finish . . .
And in third place was Oscar
Levin, the Marietta Marvel, who
must have drove in for a change
(he's been bowl ug as if he walks
it every nite) and added a few
points to Ins average with a 202-
576 thing . . , Now for the Daily
Doodle that’s where the
a big game and then
Leading contender in
was Dave (Jedge)
Eisenberg, who popped a 211 and
then took a brief recess with a
129-
Da ve is bowing out for about
six weeks rest and will be re
ceiving visitors and plaintiffs in
his suite at St. Josephs Hospital
beginning next Wednesday thru
about Tuesday—for appointments
call information or the ward boys'
office—good luck, Dave Baby! . ,
. (You ought to let the surgeon
take a look at that howling ball
too, while you’re in there) . . .
Another high-low star was Mur
ray Gordon, once known as the
Automatic Clutch but now called
the Automatic Choke, who did
both with a 232 and 145 . . . And
brief mention goes to Sandy
(Crazy Legs) Winston, who
smoked for a while with a 233,
but was reduced to ashes with a
150—I hope he’s the first custo
mer in the new barber shop going
in Express Lanes—give him a de
cent haircut and he’ll lose six
pounds at the least . . . There was
also one more beauty worth a
word or twenty, and that was
a gigantic 106 (onc-oh-sjx)
(hoondred and zex) (CVI) in a
fight to the finish by muscular
heavyweight Mighty Moe Silver—
and I’m sorry to report it. but
there was no high to go with it .
. . There were a few decent singles
— A] Alhadeff pumped out a 226 .
. . A1 Applebaum bombed out a
200 (and this will be verified by
an auditing firm before becoming
legal) . . . Stan Rolvnson flipped
a 208 . . . George Kaufman of
trailer parts fame hitched on to
a 219 . . . And we’ll check this
next one out thru Price and Wa
terhouse later, but the sheet says
Howard Adler, and next to that
is a 206, but the signature at the
bottom of the sheet verifying this
also says Howard Adler, so ... .
Mr. and Mrs. League
Yep, they finally came back and
bowled, but better they should
have had another social, after
looking the scores over and seeing
who was high, especially for the
men- that’s right Miltown Purg-
nmint did it again, this time with
one of thi' best of the season, a
premium 213-608 that is down
right sickening—looks like a guy
that good ought to join a travel
ing league, like to Arabia or Si
beria, you know . . .
For the women. Sue Mandel
was high there with a 181-475
sot . . . Only a couple of high
singles—the new Phil Toper had
a 211 (I guess that’s the old Phil
Toper who also had a 137)—and
pretty Pat Cohen got herself a pat
hand with a 170 single—her hus
band Doe also bowled—better he
should play golf some day
I want to write a column about
that game, if you readers don’t
mind—I’m still collecting mater
ial for it now, hut here’s just one
