UAHC Camp
Announces
1966 Schedule
CLEVELAND, Ga. — The Ray
and Philip N. Coleman Camp-
Institute has announced its 1966
summer schedule.
Under the auspices of the Union
of American Hebrew Congrega
tions, the camp is located at the
foot of the Blue Ridge Mountains
in Cleveland, Ga., and serves
youngsters of reform congrega
tions in Alabama, Florida, Geor
gia, South Carolina and eastern
Tennessee.
A full eight-week session will
be featured this year, according
to Rabbi Sanford Seltzer of Mi
ami, director, along with a special
Pioneer program for 14 and 15-
year-olds. The Junior program
serves children from 9 to 11 and
the Tween program is for 12 and
13-year-olds.
Rabbi Seltzer said the first four
week session will run from June
9 to July 7 the second session
from July 8 to August 5 with
eight-week campers attending
from June' 9 to August 5. The
fee for four weeks is $275 and
for eight weeks $550. Counselor-
in-Training fees are $200 for
four weeks and $400 for eight
weeks.

Buff—Bromberg
Dr. I. E. Buff and Mrs. Ruth
Buff of Charleston, W. Va., an
nounce the marriage of their
daughter, Dolly Buff, to Steven
M. Bromberg, son of Mr. and
Mrs. J. H. Bromberg of Enter
prise, Ala.
The wedding was held Dec.
26 at the Progressive Club.
The bride attends Emory
University, where she is a mem
ber of Alpha Epsilon Phi and
Kappa Delta Epsilon.
Mr. Bromberg was graduated
from Georgia Tech, where he
was a member of Phi Epsilon Pi.
He will be associated with Hayes
International Corporation in
Birmingham.

Camp Judaea
Lists Dates for
1966 Season
Announcement was made re
cently that Camp Judaea, spon
sored by the Southeastern, Sou
thern and Florida Regions of Ha-
dassah and the Southeastern Re
gion of the Zionist Organization
of America, will begin its 13th
season on June 22. The summer
sessions will end August 16.
Campers are accepted for either
a four-week session or a com
plete season.
Mrs. Charles Weiner of Atlanta,
chairman of Camp Judaea, an
nounced the decision to exercise
Camp Judaea’s option to purchase
an additional eighty acres of land
adjoining the present camp facil
ities in Hendersonville, N. C. “The
new property is equally divided
between level farmland, apple
orchards and heavily timbered
mountain slopes,” explained Mrs.
Weiner. "It will be used primar
ily for expanding the the camp’s
outdoor recreation program in
line with a ten year site develop
ment plan.”
Campers are accepted from
3rd through 10th grades and will
be under the direction of Frank
G. Farbenbloom, Southern Zion
ist Youth Commission director.

Golcman—Friedman
The engagement of Miss Berta
Golcman of Savannah to Stanley
Harold Friedman, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Hyman Friedman, is an
nounced by her parents, Mr. and
Mrs. Josef Golcman.
The bride-elect was graduated
from Herschel V. Jenkins High
School and from Armstrong Jun
ior College with an associate of
arts degree. At Armstrong, she
was a member of the student sen
ate, sub-editor of the Annual, and
officer of the cheerleaders.
Miss Golcman held the title of
Miss Savannah for 1964. She is
now working toward a degree in
secondary education at the Uni
versity of Georgia where she is
president of Hillel.
Mr. Friedman was graduated
from Benedictine High School.
He received a B.A. degree in ac
counting and is attending the
Lumpkin School of Law at the
University of Georgia.
The future bridegroom is a
member and former president of
Tau Epsilon Phi social fraternity.
He was representative to the in
terfraternity council and is also
a member of Phi Delta P\i legal
fraternity and the Legal Aid So
ciety.
A summer wedding is planned.
Rosenstein—Wachsteter
Lynda Rosenstein, daughter of
Mr. and Mrs. Michael Rosen- 1 ')
stein of Atlanta, became the
bride of John Ira Wachsteter on'
Sunday, Dec. 26, at the Atlanta
Cabana Motor Hotel. Rabbi Jacob
M. Rothschild officiated. The
bridegroom is the son of Mr. and
Mrs. Herbert Wachsteter of
Atlanta.
The bride was given in mar
riage by her father. Her sister,
Mrs. Donald Diamond, was
matron of honor. Miss Carla Gay
Weitz was maid of honor.
Howard E. Wachsteter was his
brother’s best man. Groomsmen
and ushers were Donald H.
Diamond, Aaron M. Levy of
Savannah and Philip W. Tashbar.
Mrs. Jack B. Levy of Raleigh,
cousin of the bride;' Miss Diane
Rosenstein, sister of the bride,
and Mrs. Jerry Shapiro of
Greensboro kept the bride’s book.
Following the ceremony a
seated luncheon was given by
the bride’s parents. The newly
weds will live in Athens.
Glickman—Simowitz
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Berman of
McRae, Ga., announce the en
gagement of her daughter, Har
riet Myrna Glickman, to Samuel
Avery Simowitz, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Simowitz of Augus
ta.
The bride-elect is the daughter
of the late Herman Glickman.
Miss Glickman was graduated
from Massey Business College.
Mr. Simowitz attended Tulane
University, where he was a mem
ber of Sigma Alpha Mu. He was
graduated from the University of
Georgia and is employed in At
lanta. The wedding will be held
March 27 in Augusta.

Seigal announce the engagement
of their daughter, Beverly Ann,
to Dr. Fredric Malcolm Simowitz,
son of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Sim
owitz of Augusta.
The bride-elect attended North
western University where she was

rority. She was graduated from
Washington University. She
taught in the Ladue Schools. She
is presently teaching in the Ar
lington, Va., school district.

terned at the Ohio State Univer
sity Hospitals. He served two
years as a medical officer in the
Navy and is presently a resident

in Baltimore.
