AZA, BBG Members
Han Family Service
Members of Aleph Zadik Aleph
and B’nai B’rith Girls and their
families will gather to enjoy
another BBYO Sabbath service
and Oneg Shabbat on the evening
of Friday, March 25, at the At
lanta Jewish Community Center,
at 8:00 p. in.
Two chapters, BBG-Emet and
Dr. Alfred A. Weinstein, AZA-

in an effort to spearhead and pro
mote more of such Sabbath ac
tivities with two or more chap
ters serving as sponsors. In ad
dition to the community-wide
Sabbath observance during the
Thanksgiving weekend which
drew a standing-room-only crowd
to the Or Ve Shalom Synagogue,
Chapters AZA-Sons of Israel,
AZA-Ben Ami and BBG-Aviva
have also had private BBYO
services during the past year. In
dividual chapters often attend
various synagogues to learn more,
from first-hand observa t i o n .
about the many variables among
the different branches of Juda
ism.
BBYO members, how ever,
much prefer the opportunity to
create or develop their own Sab
bath functions. Keeping it a fam
ily affair, the March 25 obser\*-
ance is open only to BBYO reg
istered members, members-in-
training who are waiting to be
placed in chapters, and their im
mediate families.
Alan Manheim will serve as
cantor; Marie Oches will welcome
the assemblage; Eddie Snyder
will give the opening prayer;
Sharon Karp will deliver the
sermonette.
Others who will participate in
the service are Wendy Wapnick,
Robert Habif, Cindy Reisman,
Loraine Mendel, Steve Lembark,
Chuck Boyer, Marcia Levy,
George Rhodes, Mark Weber and
Jan Specter. Ushers will be Len
ny Habif, Mike Newrn&n, Harold
Waronker, Chuck Willner and
Yale Shure.
Advisors of the BBYO Family
Sabbath Service are Mrs. Daniel
Shure, Irwin Berman and Arnold
Tieder. A Kiddush and Oneg
Shabbat will conclude the even
ing. Mrs. Girt Bossak, Atlanta-
Columbus BBYO director, super
vises all programming and activ
ities of the BBYO chapters, which
currently total twenty-nine.
B’nai B’rith men and women

pie have always expressed their
sense of responsibility for their
fellow-men. He reported on his
recent visit to Israel and the ex
cellent job it is doing in integrat
ing the immigrants as well as the
Arab community, and the impor
tant programs developed in that
country for the training and edu
cation of students from the new
ly emerging countries in Africa
and Asia.
Dr. Marvin Goldstein, vice
chairman of the 1966 Campaign,
responded to Senator Ribicoff’s
address and recalled his own re
cent visit to Israel and to Iran
where UJA funds are providing
essential support for food and
housing.
Following the remarks of the
spt-akers, announcements were
made by everyone present re
garding their contributions to
the Campaign. Many individuals
made additional pledges in honor
of Senators Russell and Ribicoff.
There was general agreement
that this was one of the finest
dinners of the Pace Setters Di
vision in the history of the Wel
fare Fund.
