Page Twenty-Two THE SOUTHERN ISRAELITE Augusta BBYO Elects Officers The newly augmented B’nai B’rith Youth Organization Com mittee of Augusta elected the following officers recently: Irvin J. Daitch, chairman; Mrs. Phyllis Cumins, vice-chairman; Mrs. Bella Moog, secretary; Stanley Sweeney, treasurer. Other members of the commit tee are Mrs. Eunice Levine, Daniel Silbert and Maurice Stein berg, all named to a two year term by Charles Silbert, presi dent of Obadiah Lodge No. 119 of B’nai B’rith. Ex-officio mem bers of the committee are A1 Mintz, executive director of the Jewish Community Center; Dr. M. Weisman, Youth Committee chairman of the Center; Dr. Nor man Goldberg, spiritual leader of Walton Way Temple; Rabbi May nard Hyman, of Adas Yeshurun Synagogue; and B’nai B’rith president Silbert. Elliott C. Serotta, who was elected chairman emeritus of the committee and has served with the Jewish Youth organization since 1934, acclaimed the election of Irvin Daitch because of his many years of service to Jewish communal and Augusta civic and community projects. Mr. Daitch brings to his post as chairman a long and active his tory in the Augusta community. He has served as chairman of the Augusta Federation of Jewish Charities and is a member of its executive council. He is a past president of Obadiah Lodge 119 B’nai B’rith and has served for ten years on the executive com mittee of the Augusta Jewish Community Center. A member of the finance committee of Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, Mr. Daitch has also served on the board of the Lions Club of Augusta. Friday, April 1, 1966 He is president of Daitch Dry Goods, Inc., and a member of the executive committee National Assn, of Wholesalers and is a past president and a director of the Augusta Shippers Assn. The Augusta BBYO Committee is responsible for the direction and maintenance of the Augusta Jewish Youth Program in coordi nation and affiliation with other youth groups as part of the Na tional BBYO program.
