Deborah’s
“Food Fair”
The members of Deborah BBG
held their annual “International
Food Fair’’ Sunday, March 13.
Serving Italian bread, Scotch
broth, Mexican or Irish salad,
Swedish meatballs with rice from
Thailand, Danish pastry, and In
dian tea or USA Cokes, the din
ner was a gourmet's delight.
Very privileged, the girls had for
eign exchange students from the
area schools visit with them
dressed in their countries’ native
costumes. As an added attraction,
besides the International Gift and
Candy Shoppes, the members of
Deborah made many novelty gifts
themselves. We called this new
addition DEB Shoppe, and thanks
to many of our guests it was quite
a success. To the girls of Debor
ah BBG, the most important dis
play at the “Food Fair” was our
‘‘March of Dimes Wishing Well.”
Explaining itself, all money don
ated will be given to the March
of Dimes.
Once again, (he girls of Deborah
would like to thank everyone who
made our fund-raising possible;

conducted the Sabbath Eve Serv
ice on March 20 in honor of Jew
ish Youth Week. Emet’s mem
bers in the service were Marie
Ochs, Donna Smith, Marcia Levy,
Cindy Reisman, Loraine Mendel,
Sharon Karp, and Wendy Wap-
nick.
Following the service was an
Oneg Shabbat with guest speaker
Gordon Sugarman.
Feb, 18, 518 joined Emet for
Sabbath services at the Ahavath
Achim and an Oneg Shabbat at
Sharon Karp’s house.
Feb. 19 saw the beginning of a
progressive dinner and spend the
night party. The dinner began
with appetizers at Lois Daniel’s
house and progressed to Sue-Sue
Gold’s house for an oriental dish.
For dessert the scene changed to
Wendy Wapnick’s den for a lusci
ous and surprising ending. Each
course was original and made by
the chapter members.
Our dinner ended in a circle of
mass joke-telling, which contin
ued to Susan Bauer’s house, our
place of lodging for the night.
Through a seance, snacking, and
mid-night debates, we renewed
our friendships and became well-
