Wins ‘Golden Lyre*
THE HAGUE (JTA) — An
Israeli youth orchestra has be
come permanent owner of the
“golden lyre,” a prize offered by
Queen Juliana of The Nether
lands to the musical aggregation
that has won the title of “general
winner” three successive times.
The winner was the National
Youth Orchestra, Gadna, of Tel
Aviv. The Gadna group was
again pronounced general win
ner of the World Music Con
course at Kerkrade, Holland, an
event held every four years.
‘Mein Kampf Reappears
SAO PAULO (JTA)—A Portu-
g u e s e translation of Hitler’s
“Mein Kampf’ appeared again
recently in a number of book
stores here despite a three-year-
old Government ban on its dis
tribution and sale.
The translation was issued
three years ago by a Sao Paulo
publisher. Both the Justice and
Interior Ministries promptly is
sued orders banning the book as
“slanderous and subversive” and
as “an incitement against peoples,
races and religions.”

Nazi Activities
WEST BERLIN (JTA) — An
international center for the docu
mentation of Nazi activities in
Germany and Austria will be
established here by the World
Jewish Congress in cooperation
with the Senate of West Berlin.
The center will be located in
the same house where on Jan
uary 20, 1942, the infamous
Wannsee Conference on the
“Final Solution of the Jewish
Question” was held, presided
over by Reinhard Heydrich. The
documentation center will be
headed by Joseph Wulf, noted
Jewish historian and Jewish
Telegraphic Agency correspond
ent here.
‘Hosts’ Must Identify
Arab Refugees
WASHINGTON (JTA) — The
State Department has made it
known here that while the United
States wants to have Palestine
Liberation Army members re
moved from the United Nations
Relief and Works Agency ration
rolls, their identification is “vir
tually impossible” without coop
eration of Arab host governments
which is now being sought.
This was disclosed by Assistant
Secretary of State Douglas Mac-
Arthur, 2nd. He said “UNRWA
assures us that it is well aware
of the problem and that it is
attempting to work out arrange
ments with Arab host govern
ments whereby PLA recruits can
be identified and removed from
the ration rolls.”

Hebrew Study Grows
AUSTIN (JTA) — The Univer
sity of Texas has approved a
program granting a B.A. degree
with Hebrew as a major study,
according to an announcement by
Chancellor Harry Ransom, who
said registration in Hebrew
courses at the university had
grown from 12 in 1963 to 100 in
1965.
