oration shall be as follows.

and other choees In action. Including
th acquisition thereof by original sub
scription, underwriting, or otherwise;
to make Investments In such proper
ty; and to hold, manage, mortgage,
pledge, sell, and dispose of the same
In like manner as Individuals may do.
4. Petitioners further desire that
said Corporation be vested with all the
rights and powers now or hereafter
given to do any and all things which
may be needful or proper In the op
eration of the above described busi
ness, snd that said Corporation have
all of the powera enumerated In Sec
tlons 22-1827 and 22-1828, Georgia Code
Annotated, and such other powers as
may hereafter be given by law.
6. The maximum number of shares
of capital stock which the Corpora
tion snail be authorized to Issue and
have outstanding at any one time
shall be 5,000 shares of common stock
with the par value of Ten ($10.00)
Dollars per share.
6. The amount of capital with which
the Corporation shall beeln business
shall be not less than $200 00.

NEW YORK (WUP)—Norman
Thomag, noted Socialist leader,
hailed Dr. Sholom Shakin, foun
der and moving spirit of the new
ly-created John F. Kennedy Li
brary For Minorities which is
housed in a Brooklyn building
donated by the Jewish physician.
Appearing as the guest speaker
at a dinner sponsored by the Li
brary at the Hotel Roosevelt here,
Mr. Thomas termed Dr. Shakin a
true citizen of the world who
“incarnates the idea of the Li
brary For Minorities.”
The new Library, whose hon
orary chairmen are Dr. Frank
Graham, former Senator of North
S. Korea Wants
Israeli Ships
JERUSALEM (JTA)—The Re
public of South Korea will order
three 13,000-ton ships from the
Israeli Shipyards at Haifa if the
Israel Government will approve
payment terms suggested by
South Korea. The two countries
signed a tentative agreement for
the order.
The South Koreans proposed
that 80 percent of the total cost
of $9,000,000 for the vessels be
paid out over a 10 to 11 year
period. The negotiations were
handled in South Korea by J.
Livertowsky, director of the Is
rael shipyards, who will return
to Israel later to discuss Israel’s
side of the proposed transaction.

Mr. Thomas declared that all Amer
icans belong to minority groups
of one kind or another. “Although
of diffierent cultures and back
grounds, our ancestors experi
enced a common lot,” he stated.
“All knew tyranny and dictator
ship, but here we found a ‘new
order of the ages’ and a promise
for the future.”
The noted Socialist, appearing
vibrant and dynamic in his
eighties, added that America still
has many lessons to learn. There’s

Senate Rejects

WASHINGTON (JTA) — The
Senate voted this week to reject
a Constitutional amendment pro
posed by Senate Republican lead
er Everett Dirksen that would
have upset recent Supreme Court
rulings barring religious prayers
in public schools.
Forty-nine Senators voted for
the amendment, and 37 against
it, thus making it nine votes short
of the two-thirds majority re
quired. The measure would have
authorized and provided for vol
untary religious functions in
public schools. All three Jewish
members of the Senate voted
against the Dirksen amendment.
They are Senators Jacob K.
Javits, New York Republican;
Abraham Ribicoff, Connecticut
Democrat; and Ernest Gruening.

Smearing Called "Prank"
TEANECK, N. J. (JTA)—Po
lice announced the arrest of four
youths in the swastika smearing
of Congregation Beth Sholom
and said the smearing appear
ed to have been a prank.
One of the youths was 17 and
the others 16. Police said that
the idea of daubing paint on the
synagogue was that of the 17-
year-old and that he did the ac
tual painting. Their names were
withheld.
