Gerald H. Cohen, son of Mr.
and Mrs. S. A. Cohen, has been
appointed a deputy assistant at-

Louis J. Goldberger, 76, of At
lanta died Tuesday, October 11.
Funeral services were held Oc
tober 13 in New York City.
Mr. Goldberger, a retired tex
tile executive, was the owner of
the Dandee Mills and had lived
in Carrollton for 15 years be
fore coming to Atlanta four years
ago. He was bom in New York
City and was a member of the
Temple.
Survivors include a daughter,
Mrs. Eleanor Friedman, Atlanta,
and two sons, Herbert and Sol
Goldberg, both of New York City.
Mrs. Sam Bryan
Mrs. Sam Bryan, 68, of Jack
sonville, formerly of Tampa,
died Monday Oct. 10.
A native of Russia, Mrs. Bryan
was a member of the Jewish
Community Center, Jacksonville;
Hadassah and the Ladies of the
Nile.
Survivors include a brother, Dr.
M. A. Chardkoff, Tampa; two
nephews Richard B. Chardkoff,
Tallahassee, and Dr. Louis Lubet,
Tampa, and five nieces.
Julius Jacobs
Julius Jacobs of Lynwood
Gardens, Pa., father of Dr. Mor
ris Jacobs and Dr. David Jacobs
of Atlanta, died Wednesday, Oct.
12.
He was a member of the Lom-
aer Mutual Better Business Assn,
and Bayse New come No. 745
FicAM.
Other survivors include his
wife, Dora Jacobs; daughters,
Mrs Anna Boxman, Margate, N.
J.; Mrs. Sylvia Patrick, Phila
delphia; Mrs. Evelyn Levin, Er-
denbeun, Pa tons, Harry Jacobs,

Morton Lipschutz
Morton Lipschutz of Marietta
died Sunday, Oct. 9.
Rabbi Richard J. Lehrman of
ficiated at funeral services on Oc
tober 11. Interment was in Geor
gia Memorial Park.
Mr Lipschutz, a native of Hud-
ion, N. Y , was a flight line mech
anic for the I>ockheed-Georgia
Corp., and was a veteran of the
Korean War.
Survivors include hia wife, the
former Janet Boyer; hia mother,
lira. Anne R. Lipschutz, a sis
ter, Mrs. Richard R. Levin and
t brother, Myron Lipschutz, all
of Philadelphia.

Oscar Goler
Oscar Goler, 80, of Atlanta,
died Sunday Oct. 16, after being
struck by an automobile as he
crossed the street.
Funeral services for Mr. Goler
were held October 18 with Rabbi
Harry H. Epstein and Cantor Is
aac Goodfriend officiating. Inter
ment was in Greenwood Ceme
tery.
He was the retired owner of
the Oscar Goler and Son Scrap
Metals firm. Bom in Russia, he
had lived in Atlanta for 53 years
and was a member of Ahavath
Achim Synagogue.
Survivors include three daugh
ters, Mrs. Ben Gordon, Mrs. Har
old Barashick and Mrs. Gertrude
Janis, all of Atlanta; a son, Na-
thon Goler, Memphis; a brother,
Harry Goler Lexington, Ky.;
and a sister, Mrs. Frieda Zatch-
er, St. Louis.
Mrs. Annie Landau
Mrs. Annie Landau, 84, of At
lanta died Friday Oct. 7.
Funeral services were held Oc
tober 9 with Rabbi Sydney Moss-
man officiating. Interment was in
Greenwood Cemetery.
Mrs. Landau was bom in Po
land and was a member of Shear-
ith Israel Synagogue.
Survivors include four sons,
A. C. Landau, Los Angeles;
Leon Landau, Syracuse, N. Y.;
Sol and Dave Landau, Atlanta,
and one daughter, Mrs. Herbert
Gavron, Atlanta; 11 grandchil
dren and seven great grandchil
dren.
Guss Rippa
Gum Rippa, 66, of Tampa and
St. Petersburg, died last week.
Graveside services were held Oc
tober 17 in thfc Myrtle Hill Mem
orial Park Cemetery with Rabbi
Zielonka officiating.
Mr. Rippa was a native of
New York City and had been a
resident of Tampa for 60 years.
He was a graduate of Stetson
University and a veteran of
World War I
Survivors include two sons. Dr.
S. A Rippa, Burlington, Vt., and
Maj. Leonard I. Rippa, U. S. Air
Force, Tripoli; a brother, I. S.
Rippa, Tampa; a sister, Mrs. I.
Robert Einbinder, Tampa, and
eight grandchildren.
Bertram Hess
Bertram Hess, 53, of Tampa
died Sunday, Oct. 9. Funeral
services were held October 11
with Rabbi Zielonka and Rabbi
Sundheim officiating. Interment
was in Schaarai Zedek Ceme
tery.
He was a native of Baltimore
and had lived in Tampa six years.
Mr. Hess was formerly an audi
tor for the State of Florida and
was a member of Schaarai Zedek
Temple.
Survivors include his wife,
Pearl Hess; a son, Morton Hess,
Albany, N. Y.; and three sisters,
Mrs. Florence Blitzer, New York
City, Miss Dorothy Hess, Forest
Hills, N. Y., and Mrs. Gertrude
Shapiro, Massapequa, N. Y.

Dr. and Mrs. Myron Wish of
New York announce the birth
of a son on October 2. Dr. Wish,
assistant professor at Columbia
University, is a nephew of Mr.
and Mrs. Harry Robkin of At
lanta.
Mr. and Mrs. Seymour Lavine
of Atlanta are on a six week trip
through the Orient.
Mr. and Mrs. Donald Miller of
Atlanta will leave October 23 for
a week in New York celebrating
their anniversary. Mrs. Miller is
the former Linda Krieger.
Rabbi and Mrs. Sydney K.
Mossman of Atlanta will be in
Chicago on Sunday, Oct. 23, to
attend a reception given by Mr.
and Mrs. Sidney Port in honor
of their daughter, Sharon and
their son-in-law, Eli Port who
have just returned from 4 months
in Europe. Mr. and Mrs. Eli Port
spent most of the time in Gene
va, Switzerland, where Mr. Port
was awarded a fellowship to at
tend the Camp Institute of Nu
clear Studies. He has resumed
work on his doctorate in Bio-
Physics at Northwestern Univer
sity. Mr. and Mrs. Eli Port will
make their home in Chicago.
Friends of Sam Meyerson, At
lanta, formerly of Athens, will
regret to hear of his injuries sus
tained Sunday when he was hit
by a car. He is confined to St.
Joseph’s Hospital with a multi
ple break of a leg.

for Sisterhood’s annual Patrons
Dinner Dance.

the sudden death of Bertram
Hess, nephew of Mr. and Mrs.
