students recently honored dur
ing the school’s annual Honors
Day Program. Gerald, a pre-law
student, was also recently named
to Phi Beta Kappa.

ed as president of the Daughters
of Israel by Rabbi Maynard Hy
man at a recent luncheon. Serv
ing with her will be Mrs. Irving

presidents; Mrs. Richard Rohr,
rec. secty.; Mrs. Maurice Kortick,
corres. secty.; Mrs. Herman Pes-

cipient of a plaque in recogni
tion of his activity in behalf of
Zionism in Augusta. The presen
tation from the Zionist Organi
zation of America was made by
Zeev Boneh, Israel’s Consul Gen
eral for the Southeast.

installed as president of the Au
gusta Chapter of Hadassah on
May 30. Other officers are Mrs.

dents; Mrs. Michael Cohen, trea

was presented the Ima Certificate
for supporting a child in Israel.
A certificate was presented to
Leon Ghitter in gratitude for a
donation made in memory of his
wife Molly. Her name will be in
scribed in the “Book of Mem
ories” at the Hadassah-Hebrew
University Medical Center in Jer
usalem.

Rabbi David Raab (R) was honored recently at his home in
Gastonia, N.C. by the ZOA for his dedication to the Zionist Organi
zation. Cantor Peter Toormina of Temple Beth El, Charlotte, (L)
and Harry Alan Sanders, associate director, Southeast Region, who
made the presentation, are shown with Rabbi Raab. A scholarship
award Of $750 to the Mollie Goodman High School in Israel was
pledged by those present to enable an American student to attend
the high srhool for one year.
