B’nai B’rith Girls will cele
brate their fortieth anniversary
on Sunday, Nov. 12, at 7:30 p. m.
at the Atlanta Jewish Community
Center.
The B’nai B’rith women and
men's * groups of Atlanta are
sponsoring the affair.
Mrs. Israel Wilen (Charlotte)
will be honored with the Atlanta
B’nai B’rith Girls 40th Anni
versary Award for the outstand
ing contributions she has
to youth groups in Atlanta.
Mrs. Wilen is presently an the
board o< National Council of Jew
ish Federations and Welfare
Funds, Inc.; Atlanta Jewish Com
munity Center-Youth Activities
Committee; and the Atlanta B’nai
B’rith Youth Committee.
In 1059 she was president of
Atlanta B’nai B’rith Women. Some

ed president of the student body
at the Teachers Institute-Semin
ary College of Jewish Studies of
the Jewish Theological Seminary
of America. He is the son of Mrs.
Rose Glazer of Atlanta.

Alan Loewinsohn, a student at
Briarcldff High School, will ap
pear on a state-wide 4-H pro
gram to be televised at 7:00 am.
Saturday, Nov. 4, on Channel 5.
Alan will present a demonstra
tion on stamp collecting for which
he was a first place winner in the
country 4-H contest in recreation.
He is the son of Mrs. Toby Loe-
winsohn and Ben Loewinsohn of
Atlanta.

the various areas of Jewish learn
ing will be offered for young
people and adults when the At
lanta Institute of Jewish Studies
starts its fall term classes o>n Wed
nesday, Nov. 8, it was announced
by Hans Erman, executive direc
tor of the Atlanta Bureau of Jew
ish Education. i ,y.
Mr. Eiman called attention to
a course which has never been
offered before. Entitled “Encoun
ter with Social Movements and
Upheavals,” thi3 course will deal
with the material and psycholog
ical problems facing the Jewish

community in times of social
strain and political unreal Among
other items, an attempt will he
made to analyze and understand
the causes and implications of the
Holocaust
Also unique in this year’s cur
riculum is a course on Israel

Dr. Eisdorfer was appointed a
special consultant to the World
Wide Physicians Program of the
Peace Corps and was the field
selection officer for the Peace
Corps, Washington. He is also
connected with the North Caro
lina Department of Mental Health
and is a consultant In Behavioral
Sciences for Collier’s Encyclope
dia. In addition to many Fellow
ships and Licensures, Dr. Eisdor
fer served as special consultant,
