Mrs. Leo Chardkoff is a fre
quent visitor to Atlanta.
Mrs. B. B. Smith has received
word of the escape of her mother,
Mrs. Dona Allen, and her brother,
Harry, from their home in Chi
cago when fire swept through the
building. Police and firemen ef
fected the rescue. The building
and contents were a total loss.

Alvin Bigler
Alvin Bigler, 72, of Atlanta
died Friday, Nov. 3.

Mr. Bigler, a retired salesman,
was a native of Savannah. He was
a veteran of World War II and
was a member of the Temple.
Survivors include sisters, Mrs.
Madelyn Kuttner of Rome, Ga.,
and Mrs. Ruth Metzger of Miami
Beach, and a nephew.
Henry Geigerman
Henry David Geigerman Jr., 54,
Atlanta insurance executive, died
Friday, Nov. 3.
Funeral services were held No
vember 5 with Rabbi Jacob
Rothschild officiating. Interment
was in Crest Lawn Cemetery.
Mr. Geigerman was an honor
graduate in chemical engineering
from Georgia Tech and had
taught physics at Tech before en
tering the insurance field. He was
a former professor with the Life
Underwriters Training Council.
A native of Cincinnati, Mr.
Geigerman had lived in Atlanta
since he was two years old.
He was a retired lieutenant
colonel in the Reserves and past
president of the Chartered Life
Underwriters Society of Atlanta.
He was a member of the Estate
Planning Council, the American
Society of Chartered Life Under
writers, the Reserve Officers
Assn, and the National Assn, of
Life Underwriters.
Mr. Geigerman also was a
member of the Temple, the Stan
dard Club', Gate City Masonic
Lodge and the Order of the Ar
row. At Georgia Tech he belong
ed to Phi Epsilon Pi fraternity
and Phi Eta Sigma honorary so
ciety.
Survivors include his wife, Mrs.
Clarice Geigerman; two sons,
Henry D. Geigerman III, Now
Orleans, and Maurice Geigerman,
Atlanta; a brother, Herman S.
Geigerman and an aunt, Mrs. Ir
ma S. Horwitz, both of Atlanta.
Sally C. Traube
Sally C. Traube, 74, of St.
Petersburg died Saturday, Oot. 28.
Funeral services were conduct
ed by Rabbi Morris B. Chapman
on November i with interment
in Royal Palm Cemetery.
Mrs. Traube came to St. Peters
burg seven years ago from New
York City.
Survivors include two sons,
Henry and Eugene Traube, both
of St. Petersburg.

Benjamin P. Cohen, 70, of Au
gusta died Thursday, Nov. 2.
Funeral services were held No
vember 3 at Adas Yeshuron Syn
agogue with Rabbi Maynard C.
Hyman officiating. Interment was
in Magnolia Cemetery.
Mr. Oahen was a native of Au
gusta and was a semi-retired civil
engineer and naval architect.
Survivors included 90ns. Dr
Sheldon B. Cohen, Atlanta, and
Dr. Adrian M. Cohen, Baltimore;
brother Hyman Cohen, Augusta,
and three sisters, Mrs. Henry An-
topolsky, Mrs. Josef Danish and
Miss Pearl P. Cohen, all of Au
gusta.
Dora Krasner
Dora Krasner of Atlanta died
Saturday, Nov. 4.
Funeral services were held No
vember 5 with Rabbi Harry H.
Epstein and Cantor Isaac Good-
friend officiating. Interment was
in Greenwood Cemetery.
She was the widow of Samuel
Krasner and was a member of
Anshi S’Fard Synagogue.
Survivors include a daughter,
Mrs. Ester Leppert, Atlanta; sons,
Norman and David Krasner of
Atlanta; Nathan Krasner of Sep
ulveda, Calif.; and Jack D. Kras
ner, Englewood, N. J.; eight
grandchildren and one great
grandchild.
Mrs. Nathan Leiter
Mrs. Nathan (Fannie Berman
Weiner) Leiter, 69, of Atlanta
died Saturday, Nov. 4.
Funeral services were held No
vember 5 with Rabbi Jacob
Rothschild officiating. Interment
was held November 6 at the He
brew Cemetery, Thomasville, Ga.
Mrs. Letter was bom in Cam
illa, Ga., and was a member of
the Temple, Temple Sisterhood,
Council of Jewish Women and
the Standard Club.
Survivors include her husband;
daughter, Mrs. J. M. Fednberg,
Tallahassee; sons, Irving M. Wei
ner, New York City, and Beryl
H. Weiner, Atlanta; sisters, Mrs.
Rae Gerbert, Jacksonville; Mrs.
Ada Daniel, Blakeley, Ga.; Mrs.
Isadora Maoey, Camilla; brother,
Dr. Max Berman, Jackson, Miss.;
five grandchildren, and several
nieces and nephews.
Phillip H. Solomon
Philip Hyman Solomon, 58, of
Atlanta died November 2.
Funeral services were held No
vember 5 with Rabbi Harry H.
Epstein and Cantor Isaac Good-
friend officiating. Interment was
in Greenwood Cemetery.
Mr. Solomon, a native of Den
ver, had lived in Atlanta most of
his life. He was the president of
Comet Manufacturers Corp. which
he founded 13 years ago. He was
a member of Ahavath A chirm
Synagogue and the Progressive
Club.
Survivors include a daughter,
Sherry Lynn Solomon; sons,
Marshall and! Arthur Solomon;
sisters, Mrs. Sam Kaplan and Mrs.
Morris Stedne; a brother, Wil
liam Solomon, and a grandson,
all of Atlanta.
Ernest Zaidman, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Abe Zaidman, will observe
his Bar Mitzva at 8:00 p. m. Fri
day, Nov. 24, and at 9:00 a. m.
November 25, at Rodoph Sholom
Synagogue.

of Mr. and Mrs. Morris Kichler,
recently became the bride of
Stanley Sloane, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Sidney Sloane of Miami.
The newlyweds will make their
home in Miami.
The Lylah Group of Hadassah
will hold its annual dance from
9 p. mi. till 1 a. m. Saturday,
Nov. 18, at the Jewish Commun
ity Center. Tickets are $3.00 each
and proceeds will aid Hadassah’s
Youth Aliyiah program. Dance
music will be provided by the
Tony Zaitz Band. Tickets may be

elected secretary-treasurer of the
American Society of Oral Sur
geons at a meeting in Atlantic
City, N. J. Mrs. Schwartz accom
panied him and (visited her
daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and
Mrs. Dave Goldman and grand
children in Andover, Mass.

Southern Israelite’s advertising
representative in the Tempa-St.
Petersburg area, was honored by
the Beth Israel Sisterhood on Oc
tober 26 with a plaque present
ed for her outstanding work. The
plaque will be hung in the Syn
agogue.

Senior Friendship Club honored
21 members because they
had grown one year older on
Monday, Oot. 30. Bessie Brown,
chairman of the refreshment com
mittee, went all out in catering
to this special occasion. Manny
Ward, co-chairman of entertain
ment, deserves a hearty pat on
the back for his achievement.

Betty Eisner narrowly escaped
with her life a few weeks ago
when she was seriously injured
in an automobile accident, which
destroyed her motor car com
pletely. She was hospitalized for
two weeks in Mound Park Hos
pital and was discharged only
this week and is now in her own
home recuperating.
Ben Green, recently retired
commander of the Abe Ader Post
of the Jewish War Veterans of
St. Petersburg, has been dis
charged from the Mound Park
Hospital. The findings suggested
surgery, but it was decided that
at this time Green was in no con
dition to undergo it. He will rest
at home.
For the month of October the
membership increased by thir
teen, among them Elias M. Mil
ler, Anna M. Sand, Mrs. Pearl
Rot man, Mrs. Kate Merkow, Mr.
and Mrs. Herman Gordon, Mr.
and Mrs. Walter Greene, Mr. and

Alma and David Gertner have
just returned from a four months
tour, or honeymoon, to the north.

Women will spend a fabulous

charge of the Stage Door Canteen

Down Illness Lane one finds

Club recent occupants of local
hospitals. Eli Sherman and Paul-
Steve Robdrts, son of Sidney
and Shirley Robins of Alexandria,
Va., visited his aunt, Mrs. A1
Myers who is ill. Steve, who is
with the U. S. Navy, will leave
soon for Japan.

home, following her return to St.

home suffering from injuries she
received when she fell while on

both confined to their home. Kate
Cohen is still confined to her
home, but she can be visited.
Heyman Barak is doing very well
and gaining daily. Mae De Well,
with the help of a pair of crutches
is able to stay in circulation.
Sol Eisenberg, coming along
nicely, is still at the Bayside Ma
nor Restorium. Eli Gelman has
put forth a special request for
his friends to visit him at the
Swan holm Restorium. Isadore
Gewirtzman continued ,bis rapid
recovery. Ned Tirk has fully re
covered from his recent attack.

alma mater, Wesleyan College.
After her rftagna cum laude
graduation from Wesleyan, Mrs.
Nadler did newspaper work In
Chicago and Cleveland and wrote
a radio program in Chicago. She
has also contributed features to
Atlanta papers.
Since her return to Macon aft-
ter her marriage to the late
Charles Nadler, she has served as
chairman of the Maoon Council
on World Affairs, an officer of
the League of Women Voters of
which she is a charter member
and on the board of the Maoon
little Theatre. She is on the
board of the Maoon Community
Concert Assn., an officer of her
garden club and a member of
many more organization.
She was the 1962-65 president
of the national Wesleyan Alum
nae Assn, and served as alum
nae trustee from 1958-61. In
1962, Mrs. Nadler recevied a
Distinguished Service Award from
Wesleyan. She is past president
of Wesleyan’s academic honor so
ciety, Phi Delta Phi, and holds
membership in the American
Alumnae Council.
A member of Temple Beth Is
rael, she has served on its board
of trustees and as president of
the Sisterhood, and is a member
of Hadassah and B’nai B*rith
Women.
