have been patients at Tampa
General Hospital.

Miss Randy Grier, daughter
of Dr. and Mrs. Arnold Grier,
has recovered nicely from her
recent automobile accident.
Frank Katz, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Fred L. Katz, will observe
his Bar Mitzva at 9:00 a.m., Sat
urday, Dec. 2, at Rodoph Shdlom

Miss Mary Sue Flom of Tampa
and her fiance, Lt. Frederick
Rothenberg of Keyport, N.J.,
were honored at a dinner on No
vember 19 at the Columbia
Restaurant’s Adela’s Hideaway,
Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Wohl were
hosts. On November 20, the
couple was honored with a din
ner party at Swiss House. Hosts

Bar Mitzva
Larry Kleiner, son of Mr. and
Mrs. Joseph Kleiner will cele
brate his Bar Mitzva this Friday
night (8 p. m.) and Saturday (9
a. m.) Nov. 24-25th. The cele
brant will conduct the complete
“Kabbolas Shabbas,” chant var
ious liturgic hymns, and present
an address “Biblical Concept of
Kindness.” Rabbi S. Mallinger
will administer the traditional
prayers and benedictions upon
the parents and the Bar Mitzva.
Mr. Ben Gutkin, president of the
congregation, and Mrs. Jesse
Feingold, Sisterhood president,
will extend greetings and gift
presentation.
The Bar Mitzva will also lead
at the Shabbos morning worship:
I:E.-Shachiris, Musaf, Maftir, To
rah reading, and Haftouiah. Rabbi
Mallinger will preach on the Pen

New changes of the bylaws
have been mailed to the full
membership of SF Club, for ac
tion to be taken at the Decem
ber membership meeting on De
cember 4. The changes in the
bylaws will bring this important
document up-to-date. The bylaws
as adopted will 'be printed in book
form and distributed to every
member.
Emergency operations hospita
lized Max Schlachter in St. An-
tliony’s and Ben Green in Mound
Park. Max went completely blind
in both eyes and was rushed to
the hospital Friday morning, No
vember 17, where an immediate
operation was performed, the re
sult of which will not be known
for at least a week or ten days.
Ben, who was recently discharged
from Mound Park, was rushed
back there for an emergency op
eration. He was reported to be
resting quietly, but he will have
to undergo further surgery.
Harry Kaye, who for one year
has been hovering between life
and death in St. Petersburg, Phil
adelphia and New York City hos
pitals, has now fully recovered
and is playing hts favorite game
of golf as If nothing had hap
pened. His friends are rejoicing
with him.
Ira and Alta Cutler arrived
last week from Old Town, Me.,
On Friday, November 11, Vet
erans Day Sabbath was observed.

ice. Mr. Arthur Sherry, post com
mander, presented the address.
Thankgiving Sabbath
On Friday night, Nov. 17, a
Pre-Thanksgiving Sabbath wor
ship took place. Dr. Robert Gold
stein, professor of American His
tory at the University of South
Florida presented the address. Dr.
and Mrs. Nathan Kessler tender
ed the Oneg Shabbot reception.
Sisterhood News
Beth Israel Sisterhood held its
monthly meeting on Tuesday,
Nov. 14. Mrs. J. Fenston, head
of Tampa Library, gave a book
review.
Plans are underway for a sec
ond "Rummage Sale" slated
shortly. The 11th annual Patrons
Dinner Dance will be held on
Sunday, Deo. 10. A cocktail hour
will precede the dinner. There
will be dancing and entertain
ment.
The Couples Club
Beth Israel’s Couples dub will
bold another in its series of so
cial danoes, on Saturday night,
Nov. 25. This will be in the foam
of a “Hippy Dance.” There will
be a live orchestra, prizes and
entertainment. Public is invited.
Jewish Book Month
Observance of Jewish Book
Month will be carried out at the
Sabbath Eve Worship, Friday,
Dec. 1 at 8 p. m. Its theme will
be “Israel—People of the Book.”
Mr. and Mrs. Abraham Betvehimol
will host the Oneg Shabbot,
and reoeived a very warm greet
ing. They are flirting with the
idea of living in St Petersburg
Beach all year around.
Ben Franklin, who underwent
surgery in St. Anthony’s Hospital
last week is making a alow re
covery. He was commander of
the National Vaudeville Artists
Post of the American Legion for
10 years before retiring.
On November 30, the member
ship birthday party is scheduled.

wide attention from visitors to
the Sunshine City, many of them
becoming members of the Club.
Among the visitors last week
